This is what I did when it got bad for me - it may or may not help you
at all. When the craving got really bad I would take in as much air as my lungs could possibly hold, and when I thought I couldn't take in any more I did three sharp intakes, which only amounted to a tiny volume, but it really did help. I then held that air as long as I could, exhaled slowly and as completely as possible. In the beginning I would start really hacking at that point. After just a few weeks I realized that the air I was able to take in was a much larger volume than before, and I wasn't hacking and gagging afterward. Sort of like losing weight and seeing the numbers on the scale drop, gaining more lung capacity and eventually less coughing was a real incentive for me. Look at it this way- are you really ready to throw away all the progress you have made so far? Starting all over again? I know for some of us there really is no "just one smoke won't hurt". For me at least, I would easily be back to 2 packs a day in 24 hours. You have come this far! You can do it. I just passed the 3 month mark. Boy it seems like a lifetime ago! Hard to believe!.
