Good luck to all of you. |

Newbie, you are the hero of the forum. Two years without one smoke is great. I tried Wellbutrin/Zyban a few years ago and it didn't work for me. Just shows you that different methods work for different people. |
The first time I tried it it didn't work because I actually did it wrong, and my doctor never explained what to do.
The second time I tried it was different. I went on the drug for two weeks with a twice daily dosage as instructed. By the end of the third week I didn't even want to smoke. I have found three things that have helped me kick this. The first is wanting to actually live for more than a few more years or days even. Especially to be around for my 3 year old. The second is kinda esoteric. I saw this movie a while ago with Robin Williams, Kenneth Branaugh, and Emma Thompson called Dead Again or some generic title like that. Robin Williams was an ex psychiatrist who went a little crazy and worked in a stock room. Branaugh kept looking at his cigarette pack while he was trying to quit. Williams basically said. Quit dicking around. You need to decide whether you are a smoker or not a smoker, pick one and be it. I think this is the simple essence of will. Lastly, it takes a while, but you do feel much better. It is gradual, but now I can do things without getting anywhere near as winded. Good luck Paula. |
