Women whom have had their babies...

Any of you deal with fibroids? If so what was your labor like? I ask b/c I have one that could probally cause problems. I already have a feeling I would not make it to my due date (end of January) and was in L&D last Monday night.

Think my baby girl went into launch position, not really sure if this is a good thing. No dilation after two cervix checks, one after getting a shot of tributaline to stop contractions that were every 2-3 minutes not that I noticed. I do understand I could be looking at any day now rather then getting into January with no problems. Just wanted to know if anyone has experience in this dept. Thanks!

I don't have any experience with fibroids during pregnancy.
Just wanted to lend some support. There are so many advances in medicine, hopefully they wil be able to keep you from going into labor too soon.
Best wishes to you that all goes well.
Keep us posted.
So you're 8 weeks from your due date then?
Has your doc put you on bedrest? Are there any other issues, blood pressure ok etc?
It's always best to prevent premature labor if at all possible, and for as long as possible, but with the advances in medicine things aren't quite so scary. My cousin had her twins 11 weeks early, they were tiny, and had to stay in hospital for 6 weeks, but they were fine. They've grown up just fine too. :)
Get lots of rest, follow docs orders, and good luck! :)

I know nothing about fibroids, sorry....
Just offering support to you and hugs.

Marianne and the boys
Is this the same as fibroid tumors? If so, I found out I have them with my last pregnancy (last year). I'm not sure if I had it with my previous pregnancies, and my last one ended in a miscarriage. We've kinda been scared to try again for another baby, but we're thinking about adopting a toddler/younger child in a few years when both the boys are in school. :) I do remember the doctor talking about premature labor, so you may want to take it easy the next few weeks. (((HUGS))) and good luck with your upcoming delivery! :)
Well after spending the couple hrs in the hospital on Monday and being given 24 hrs of rest as much as possible from hospital, I decided to take it easy at least until I am 36 weeks which will be Dec. 30th. I figure at that time if my baby girl comes, we will be ok and not have to worry about her going into an incubator (we live 45-60min from hospital). My hubby has been helpful most of the time, we even went grocery shopping together tonight and he brought all the groceries in for me. I do a lot of lying in bed, sleeping and trying to keep my feet up. Thankfully I have no problems with high blood pressure (I was diagnosed with white coat syndrome) as I monitor it at home for the dr's.

If I go out, I have decided if I am going to Charlottesville, I can go by myself for the most part (things like dr appts and such are ok). If I go the other way to Richmond, I plan to take someone with me, or rather have someone drive me out there and stay with me just in case. I also plan to rest as needed and pretty much take it real slow. At this point I have 8 1/2 wks and hubby and I had cancelled our thanksgiving plans b/c of the possibility of preterm labor and now I stay within an hour of hospital just to be safe. Hopefully I will learn more on Thursday when I go to my next dr appt.
I'm glad yuo've decided to take it easy... now's the time anyway!
Hubby needs to get used to helping out more around the house, too! :D

I hope all goes well.
I'd like to also add that dehydration is a leading cause of pre-term labour. Make sure you are drinking enough water!

I have no experience with fibroids but more than enough with pre-term labour...lol.
