Anyway, I can't smoke for 6 weeks because the treatment cost $250 and it will take 6 weeks for me to save the $250 from not buying cigs. |

YAY! You can do it Paula!
Sometimes when the time is right, like it sounds for you, you can just put them down and walk away. I've had that occasional urge every so often since I quit, but they weren't very strong. Even the fist two days which were terrible physically, I still had relatively little desire to pick up a smoke. Sounds like the time is right for you! If you do get strong urges, contact your support folks (Like us! or your other friends.) |
CONGRATULATIONS! As a smoker, I know that 3 days without is a major achievement - every time you get the urge, remember that what you've been through so far is supposed to be the worst and that you CAN get through this urge.
I hate to put it in writing, but I have committed (to myself) that I will quit next Mon. Don't ask me why that date as there is no specific reason, but am trying to cut down (usually smoke about a pack a day) before then. Any advise before hand would be appreciated - had never heard of this treatment before and would like more info. WAY TO GO |
Good Job! |
Way to go!!
I am trying to quit too. My sister is an acupuncturist and I really need to get her to treat me. She puts little "seeds" on your ear, probably the same points that you are using the laser on. Glad it is working for you. I had cut way back because of some dental work. Then when they pulled a tooth the other day, the root had gone throught the sinus cavity. I was warned to absolutely not smoke because if it didn't close it could mean surgery and who knows what else. I'm using the patch right now. So far so good. Hang in there we can do this. |
You can do it, Angel! |
Like many smokers, I quit many times. The last time was 20 years ago. I put a glass jar on top of my television, and every day I put $3 in it. That was the cost of a pack of smokes at the time, so it demonstrated the money I had saved. I HAD to put the money in the jar, every day, even if I didn't have it, because I knew that if I was smoking I would find the money. When I got up to a number that I could exchange for a larger bill, I did...like on the 4th day I had $12 so traded the money to a $10 and $2. Then soon had a $20, then a $50 etc. It just looked better to me, to see a $100 bill instead of a few $20's. When it reached $300 I took it out, and bought my first car, and never looked back. Oppps. Wrong...
I did fall off the wagon for a few days, when I first met my future mother-in-law, but that is another story in itself. Quitting is very hard, and I applaud everyone who tries. |
Wonderful!!!!! Congratulations on this achievement!!! Keep going and take it one day at a time!! You now can consider yourself a NON Smoker...keep telling yourself that.
