Take for example, that property I really want to purchase and didn't have a penny to spare as with just me and 9 mouths to feed, the dream seemed a bit farfetched. Then that phonecall came in..offering me a second job that paid enough to cover a second morgage. This week is happened again. I'm at a new school and one of my students is a little guy with autism. Very high functioning autism is called Aspergers and this student is very very bright but has social problems. Yesterday, a whole team got together to discuss this childs educational plan. I looked at his previous behavior from years past...kicking, spitting , hitting, swearing..running away. I said he hasn't done this at all since I've known him and is a -wonderful kid and yes, while he does have social problems he is never violent. Mom has been so happy with his behavior so far this year...used the word "magical". It was then I looked down at his chart and noticed for the first time in tiny print which had been on a page that was missing from the one I recieved in Sept. "This child loves magic and adores animals". Ahhh a match made in heaven!! No wonder I just love this kid and vice versa!! Think it was meant to be that out of all the schools in the district..over 100 I was posted at this one and in this class..with this kid in that class. Dunno ...what the chances are of that happening, as a lot of kids like magic and animals. Still it makes me smile to think, somehow we both ended up in the same place. Think it was magical indeed. that's so wonderful for both of you! i love happy stories. |
Great story, Marianne! Nothing by chance. |
Truly wonderful story Marianne....I too believe everything happens for a reason (lots of times we just dont know what that reason is) and if it is meant to be it will be. |
Great opportunities. Carpe Diem! |
Marianne,
I wished you worked in our school district. My son, Ryan's teacher, is an old battle axe. My son went from being a very good student in his old school to fighting, cursing...etc He's been with the same teacher for two years. Since there are not too many special ed kids in our district she teaches both 1st and 2nd Grade of the non severe kids. I can't wait until next year... Maybe we'll get lucky. Ryan would LOVE you!!! Fantastic! |
ahhhhhhhhhh there are no coincidences!!! |
It is karma!!!!
Just when you start to lose hope in this world and all the people in it, someone comes along to remind you that there is light out there! |
Great story, Marianne. And Ginny's right - there are no coincidences. God put you where you are when you were needed!

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for all the comments and I feel fortunate this little guy entered my life..reminds one not to take anything for granted. Ellissa, Perhaps in Ryans future there will also be a teacher/friend/mentor that just "clicks" with him. Sometimes it's only after you experience "not so good" that you really appreciate the good stuff. Same with this child, I was speaking of..think he had a rough couple of years and now I'm reaping the benefits as we just happened to like the same things and found a connection. In a nutshell it's not about me..but more about him and his past experience and how much he now appreciates someone that enjoys the same things as him. Ryan will find that connection with someone as well..maybe not this year..but it will happen, I'm sure. Wish him all the best and hugs. I know I'd love Ryan as who wouldn't as he's one cute kid! wow.... Pure Karma at work here.
It's a great story! |
It seems like the bonds you make with people and animals in life are so meaningful. That is so awesome. |

Like its been said before, everyone has their own beliefs about these things. Mine happens to be that God has His hand in it all. Sometimes we mess things up for ourselves and He helps us fix it, and other times, well, He has to let us go through some of the bad in order to teach us so we'll know how to teach others when He puts us in those positions. Its then that we truly receive our blessing, when we see the blessing that others are to us. God bless. jmpo |
Hi,
Thanks for the compliment, and while I seem to be able to reach and make connections with kids and animals that have been labled "difficult", I have not been able to reach one of my own children, ironically. This causes me the greatest pain and because of it, and his own difficulties, it has made me always treat children like him with kindness and respect. Too often children and animals with difficulties have lost the ability to trust experiencing so much negativity in their lives. I too, am hoping that someday my own child will find that person with whom he makes a connection with. Marianne and the boys |
