Whenever I mention I have Old English Sheepdogs and ask to describe them to someone that isn't familiar with the name I say" You know , shaggy hair, big black noses and tongue sticking out."....Most get a look of recognition on their face and say ..."Oh Yeah!!" "Those dogs!" Seems tongues hanging out is synonomous with a sheepie! Marianne and the boys |
| ok... the tongue showing mouth open is cute....
But when you have a dog like My Boxer,Roxie,who's tongue was always sticking out..or rather didn't quite fit in her mouth....well that's pretty ugly looking. If she had just taken a drink and the tongue was somewhat still wet, anything she sniffed would attach to her semi-dry tongue...dirt, dog hair...cat fur.. The tongue would completey dry out during the day... She would go to sniff me and touch me with a leathery dry tongue.... It was rather creepy
