|
Sorry but EWWWWWWW!! My only question would be WHY (I'm OLD CAN YOU TELL?) |
I have my ears pierced (just 2 holes--one on each ear) at the moment. At the height of piercings (in college) I had my belly button pierced, and 2 holes in one ear and 3 in the other (I did most of them myself!)...not tats... |
i had my labret pierced in high school but i took it out when i got to college... i still have a little hole there.
i have 5 tattoos; 2 swallows on my chest, an atom on my wrist, a design on my back, and chinese letters on my calf. i like tattoos a lot and would probably have a lot more if i wasnt worried about covering them up for work! |
Ginny, I'm with you on this one. I have very fair skin and I've spent my whole life trying to avoid any skin damage. Now I'm in my 40s and I spend even more time trying to avoid wrinkles. I can't imagine intentionally inflicting damage on my skin! But quite a few of my friends have them - two of my friends tattooed the names of their children.
Here's a funny story - we were having a BBQ/pool party and my friend was over with her daughter, in a bikini. My husband's work buddies were BESIDE themselves staring at her. After she was gone, one of the guys made a comment about how unusual it was to see a girl her age without any tattoos. I said, "oh, she has a tattoo. She has her daughter's name tattooed." They guys went crazy - how could she have a tattoo that wasn't visible in that little bikini? How did I know? and I said "I know because I've seen it." Total silence as the guys pondered where the tattoo could be - and why I would have seen it! Hee, hee hee... |
Heather, I have a friend who is in his 1st year out of law school and has a great job now, but with is tats he did the white collar kind...they go all the way down to his wrists and are all along his back, but you can't see them when wearing a dress shirt...you could do that! |
I only have my ears peirced. My husband has both his ears periced too, he has 5, 3 in one ear and 2 in the other. I just have 2 in each. My hubby also has 2 tatoos. One on each upper arm. One is the anarchy symbol, and the other is a flaming skull and a lightning bolt.
I'm not into additional peicing at all, but I would love to have a tatoo done. I'd like to have a raven done in the small of my back. I'd like it to look like the raven is flying carrying a dreamcatcher. |
Sorry, guess it's cause I'm middle age, but I hate tatoos on women (and on most men, too), and piercings are beyond my comprehension.
I just want to see someone who has tatoos when they're about 65-70 and wrinkled. I'm betting the trend will reverse itself to the next generation when they see that!! Chris |
Ooh, stacey, that sounds cool. why that image?
My dad always said, what's the point of getting a tattoo if you can't see it (meaning all the girls who get them on the smalls of their back, etc...) I don't know what I would get...I can't think of anything right now that I would necessarily want on me for the rest of my life. |
You're probably right Chris, which is why I don't have any. I doubt I will ever do it. |

Chris Oh THANK YOU CHRIS, I don't have to feel SOOOOOOOOOO old fashioned!!! Maybe it comes from being a nurse and so many years of seeing so many REALLY OLD TATOOS. They don't stay nice forever you know. After awhile they just look kinda..............old My daughter went out with a boy who had the neck to wrist thing going on..... SHE has a tatoo over her entire back. I get kinda nauseous when I look at it, so I don't. AND when she was a teenager and wanted her belly button pierced I DID IT FOR HER, I didn't want her going to a Tatoo parlor and having some creepy guy do it Somday the youth of today will be old and grey sitiing around saying "whats wrong with these younguns' that they don't like body art" It's all a circle |
Only ears pierced, too much of a sook to contemplate tats and other piercings |
Everytime I see people with piercings now, I can't believe how socially acceptable it has become. About 10 - 12 years ago, I liked the originality of different piercings. Back then it was very difficult to find someone to do them and it was very expensive. Now, pretty much every kiosk at the mall has somebody doing them and peoples' parents are having them done! If that's not the end of cool, I don't know what is!
When I turned 18, I got my first piercing in my left eyebrow. As piercing was pretty new, they pierced with a much larger gauge than they do now and it was a serious piercing! Lots 'o' blood and a good sized ring. For about two years, no one ever looked at my eyes when they talked to me. I always got that slightly elevated look where you could tell they were staring at the eyebrow ring. I was a punk rock kid and pretty used to being looked at weird anyway! To bring peoples' eyes down, I pierced my bottom lip right where your lip ends and skin begins. It worked-- now people didn't know where to look. After that, I put small spacers in my earholes and stretched them about 3 or 4 sizes up. I got 4 piercings in my navel so I could have 2 long bars that criss crossed across the hole. I tore one out on a zipper and that lost its fun. I got both of my nipples done for free since I volunteered to be in a piercing instructional video that they use at tattoo and piercing conventions. Those are the last of the piercings that I will talk about... I started taking them out one by one starting about six years ago-- also when I started to settle down at a serious job! The eyebrow and lip came out for my mom's birthday and made her the happiest person ever! Now I'm pretty much piercing free except for my ears and all the holes left behind. It's just not even interesting to me anymore since you see them all the time-- well, that and I'm 30 so unless you're a tattoo artist or in a band, it's a good time to be done! I do like that I'm not stuck with some lame tattoo that seemed like a good idea when I was 18 but rather, just a tiny scar-- that was what I liked in the first place. I see a lot of people my age with Taz tattoos or sports teams that are like "Man, if I could go back..." My best friend has spent close to $5000 on tattoo removal, which is pretty much EXCRUCIATING on some areas of the body. She had a beautiful back piece that wrapped to her stomach and she just came to the realization that she was stuck with this huge brand for the rest of her life and she just didn't want it anymore. I had to almost carry her out of the office after one of the stomach treatments! Don't get me wrong, I think some tattoos are really cool but there are definitely a lot of people that forget about the lifetime committment part! |
Wow, this has been an interesting read. I only have 1 set of earring holes now. I used to have 2 in one of my lobes, but that went out of style pretty quickly. Always wanted a tatoo of a teddy bear (as I collect them) but I'm a big woose and woud likely pass out! |
I thought for my 30th why not do something crazy and I got my belly button pierced. It hurt a little bit but I would never do it again. |
my gosh. i went into a peircing craze during the first year of college. i had my labret peirced too but it didnt last long, and i still have the scar from it. grr.. i still have a tiny bead on my nose, and i cant part from it yet!! im going to be student teaching in the spring, and will eventually have to remove it
i got my first tattoo on my lower back when i was 15, a goldfish.. im 25 now and it looks more of a blowfish. blah. |
I brought my friend in High School to get one. She offered to pay for one for me, I said no. I had always wanted one but could never choose something that I would want to have all my life.
My ears are pierced. Two in the left, one in the right. The upper one on the left and lower right have closed up. I haven't worn earrings in years. I used to wear those big hanging ones in the 80's and almost ripped an hole completely out of my ear when I fell asleep wearing them. After that it was pretty much nothing but studs... Now I can't wear them at all. I had my tongue pierced in 2001. I had it for at least six weeks. It was still hurting me so I decided to take it out. Besides Billy didn't like it and thought it to be kinda trashy. I just had to do it to see what all the rage was. I told Billy that it hurt, he said well try to bite your tongue and see if that helps It HURT!!! He laughed... and asked well then why did you bite it I took it out right after that. Elissa |
This is a fun topic!!! I will share...as long as no one TOTALLY freaks out!
I have my ears, bellybutton and something lower pierced! Before everyone freaks out it actually was the least painful one I had! I used to have my nose pierced, but it kept falling out when I washed my face or itched my nose so I gave up! I have 2 tattoos both on my back, 1 is a sun that I got for Summer Solstice a few weeks after my Bart passed to symbolize the cycle of life and I have a Celtic Butterfly that I got this year to also symbolize Bart, you know the story of Bartfly. Both have a tremendous amount of sentiment and meaning to me and I love them. As for the comments of the old people having tattoos...I have had this conversation with my mom...well...both times I got my tattoos! I am convinced that we all will have funny looking wrinkly tattoos in the old age homes...it's the generation! We'll all compare them and tell stories of how we came to get them! I figure it's better than sitting around weaving baskets or something! |
Okay, my turn....I am so not into tatoo's...my biggest fear is what Ill look like at 60...only one piercing in each ear..thats it....I was born and raised ultra conservative...preppy...and a prep with a tatoo is not a pretty sight. Its not so much what other people will think, just what I think...and if I cant keep one pair of shoes for more than one season, what makes me think that I could live with a tatoo forever....hmm, unless I had one done in a monogram style........ |
My father has one small tattoo that he got after my parent's divorced, to symbolize the pain of the divorce, a small blue tear, that matches his eyes. He also has one ear pierced twice. I have had my ears pierced since I was a baby, and the only other piercing was the cartlidge of my ear, when I was a teen. I kept it in for a year or so, but the pain never got any better so I didn't leave it. When I turned 18, I wanted a tounge piercing, but never pursued it. After having my daughter at 20, my thoughts and ideas changed. I decided that I would not do anything to my body that I wouldn't want my children doing, so I didn't pierce anything. I never wanted a tattoo, still don't, but don't have any problems with others having them.
My husband has one ear pierced, and my son has had his ear pierced since he was 3. I do think it is cute, but there have been negative comments to him and myself for doing it. It wasn't something I really wanted to do, but Joey wanted to be like his Grandpa, and we made the mistake after serious health tests came back that he was healthy, we let him know he could have anything he wanted.....LOL....he chose an earring like Papa. He already wants another earring, but I would rather him stick with just the one. I still look at my childrens flawless skin and pray that they never decide to put a tattoo on it. I think they have body designs that stay on now for a few months, and then they can be removed....I would like that better than the permanent ones. My husband's sister has tattoo's all over her body, as well as her husband, they both have had beautiful art work done. When I was a teenager, I always said I would get the chessire cat on my ankle.....LOL Tanya, your tat sounds so neat of Pooh and friends. My cousin Mysti, has Mickey Mouse. Those of you with tat's should show us pics.....if they are in a place you can show....LOL Stormi |
Okay Colleen.. fess up.. where's the third!!!! You go Girl..
I have three tattoos. My first tattoo I got when I was 38.. a tribal sun on my left shoulder blade.. my second tat (age 40), is a serenatity knot (celtic) on my lower back.. and my third, just this past August is two puppy paws, right shoulder blade, one with a M for Murphy and the other a D for Dudley.. (age 42). I love tattoos. My father doesn't know... he would flip.... |
Sir Gucci's Mom wrote: Before everyone freaks out it actually was the least painful one I had!
It was my most annoying and shortest lasting one! I gave it a week and decided I favored walking and doing other things more! I know some people mentioned scars related to piercings. Another interesting fact: some holes just never go away! *Sigh* Live and learn... |
I guess I feel the way you do Darcy, about the shoes for no more than one season. I have my ears pierced ,just one hole in each ear. I asked my mom to pierce them when I was about 6, after she pierced one I told her that I changed my mind( from what I remember it hurt) and didn't want it anymore, but she told me we had to do the other. I am glad I did it then because I would be scared to do it now. I think in the states piercings and tatoos are more exceptable than in my country. I am from Ukraine. There are people who have them but a lot times they are looked on with judgment I would say. When I was younger most of the people who had them were the ones that have been to prison or sailors or military. Very few women have them, I had never seen a women there that had a tatoo.

I have multiple piercings now and have had different piercings over the years. I've had just about everything done to my ears that you can have done. (That's what happens when you have lots of friends that work in tatoo parlors!) The weird thing is that most of them have rejected. I have a celloid left over from a bad cartilidge piercing. Lesson 1 kids, we don't get pierced with a gun in the mall!!!!! I've had my helix done a couple of times now and it keeps rejecting over and over again; even when it's done behind the scar tissue. And nothing like hitting that one with the phone! OWWWW!
I have my navel done which is probably the worst, pain wise, piercing you can get. The guy who did it went too deep too and I have to maintain it as a surgical implant now. Took about 4 or 5 years for it to heal completely and be pain free/low maintenance. No matter what anybody tells you, piercings are permanent too. You're left with a hole or a scar or a bump or who knows what else. I'll probably be getting my tattoo this year. It's been in design for about 3 years now. I think I'm finally happy with it. You've got to make sure it's going to be something you'll want forever and something that's personal to you. Probably why it's taken me so long to decide. I'll probably get another one in the future to cover the scar left from my shoulder surgery. A picture's got to be better than 4 inches of rough skin! I've done tons of research on body modification for college courses. Gotta love that Communication degree, so much cooler than the Psych curriculum! There's not a culture out there that doesn't do some sort of body modification, body art. It's not as odd and uncommon as you think. Do you know where nipple piercing originally came from? Roman soldiers pierced their nipples so they could hang their capes from them. Talk about uniform requirements! And the tattoos when you're old thing. I can tell you it's not that pretty but you do get to play the, guess what it used to be, game with the medical people caring for you! |
I have one piercing in each ear. My Dad used to tease me that I had enough holes in my head, why did I want more.
When my son was 18 he wanted to pierce his tongue. I bribed him with a $100 pair of sunglasses not to. He agreed not to do it as long as he lived at home. Well he is 24 now and just moved out. Think he is glad that he never had it done. It was a fad and his girl friend at the time had done it. I have been watching Miami Ink on TLC. It is a program about four tatoo artist opening a shop. It has been very interesting to watch it being done. The art work is amazing. Most of the customers have very emotional or symbolic reasons for getting them. I don't object to them but, I don't think it is something I would do. |
I have a mermaid on a rock on my right shoulder blade Ialways wanted to be a mermaid she is really sweet |
mermaid done when I was 50 I am still not wrinkly |
Interesting thread.
I got my one and only tat at the age of 35. It a dolphin jumping over a quater moon with three small stars . Would I do it again....NOPE. It's on my left calf. The entire time the guy was working on the tat I wanted to kick him in the face!!! LOL But I refrained. As far as piercings, I only have my ears done, two in the right ear, one in the left. I took my teenaged daughter last year and she got her belly button piecred. Now I'm the biggest collector of belly button rings there is. LOL I'm always finding something and bringing it home to her. But I would never get mine done myself. Eeeeekkkkkk! |
When I had my belly button pierced it didn't hurt at all. I went with 3 friends in my dorm. Two of us were fine, the third got REALLY infected. I mean it was disgusting. I had to hide it from my mom--she freaked out when she finally saw it!
I took mine out about 3 years ago when I got my first real 'grownup' job. I just felt it was time. Plus, the fact the EVERYONE had them made it less fun for me. When I got it, it was more of a punk thing to do, then only a few short years later, moms were taking teenage daughters to get them done! I loved mine, but like my husband says, you never wore shirts that showed your belly button, so why did you have it? |
WOW!!!Alot of differnt of opinions here Im loving it!! Id like too say my thoughts on being old and wrinkely.Being that I am also a nurse and have sen MANY eldery w/ MANY tats I know what old skin looks like.I was 18yrs old in nurseing school,my clinical was in county hospttal in Miami, this older lady(70ish)named Ruby was there, she very obviously had a rough life.In fact she stepped off a Sr.bus broke her leg the dr's did NOTHING for her and it healed wrong, and she couldnt walk right on it(sounds like jagger!!LOL)Many old guys from the wars had MANY tats on them.I took care of this elderly guy Irvin just lost his wife too cancer,he saw I had tats and asked me "Why would a young lady have tats?"I said"I love them and it documents what i have been through in certain times of my life."He then explained too me how in WW2 in germany when he was a POW his buddies had tats and the germans would take an Am.soilder and rip the skin off w/ a knife where the tat was,and make lap shades, walletts, etc w/ the Am.soliders.What do you say oo that?He then said that at his old age he now was going too get a tat in honor of his wife. I am in No way afraid of looking old,so too me whats the biggy of being old w/ tats? The pierceings more than likely wont be around at 60/70yrs,but HEy who knows???My thoughts on life is if theres something you have always wanted too do then dont die w/ regrets.Tatoo'ing and pierceings hav been around for thousands of yrs, longer Im sure, and I think now a days it is used too express your life. My 17yr old wants a pierceing, and I told her when she is 100% then she can get one,i think saying NO!!your NOT getting one, only makes them do their "own" pierceings leading too infections. She watched me geting my labret done and she was like UHMMMMMMMMMM>>>IM not ready!!LMAO!! I love this forum, but knowing we ahve people on here who are has freaky as me makes it even better!! Oh and too the person who watches miami ink, awesome show eh???Chris nunez is a cousin of mine, they are a bunch of awesome guys!! |
Oh, oh, my turn!
I'm pretty conservative personally- I only have one piercing in each ear, which I've had since I was a little girl (I love my pierced ears- I love wearing "sparklies" but I'm always losing them ) I have no tattoos, and no inclincation to get one. alot of my family members have them though: My husband has a small chinese dragon on his shoulder blade, which he got in Basic Training My sister has a belly button ring she got in college, and a big gorgeous tatoo of a leopard across her back (She actually worked with a leopard during her internship at the MN Zoo) My aunt got a tat of a pansy on the small of her back at the age of 46, at the same time her daughter got a tatoo. My mom now calls her "Pansy A**" Karen |

That's too funny Karen. |
It always surprises people when I say this because I'm also (like the above person) considered VERY conservative and girly (all-american girl). ...but... when I was 16, I went through a "phase." I was super grunge (listened to nofx, bad religion, wore pants held together by safety pins, hair color was blue-black w/blonde streak, etc).
I pierced my belly button myself about 3 times. Would get tired of it after a few weeks, and then do it again several months later (or pierced it wrong the first time). I pierced my ...ughh... "chest" as a dare between the gals. Long story. When I did this, it wasn't so "in" as someone else mentioned. I was probably 1 of the only girls who had it done (but it did make 3 of my friends do it). One day in the shower, it was YANKED off when my towel (loop in fabric) got stuck on my ring. Thankfully the goods weren't damaged. ...but I do have a scar. Then of course I had my tongue pierced 3 times. 1st time I swallowed...arghh.. I'm in a rush, so I don't have time to tell the entire story but I was told it was a first in the hospital. It's very common for people to swallow the round ball, but not so much the entire long gauge. 2nd time they pierced it wrong so immediately took it out. 3rd time I took it out when "that phase" finally passed and I realized I couldn't attract the boys I was interested in with things like that. So,... all this ended by the time I was 18. Never got a tattoo. ...was never really into that. |
Ouch, ouch, ouch. |
My 21 year old has had her tongue pierced since she was 16. I had to sign the consent for her to do it. I went along and made sure that they autoclaved their equiptment and used new needles everytime. She still has the piercing and never had trouble with it.The last time she went to the dentist he called me in and showed her and I that it was eroding her gums at her bottom lower teeth . He also told her that they take skin off the roof of your mouth to do a skin graft to cover the erosion when its bad and that it isn't a very pleasant procedure. She is going to get rid of it when she graduates from college.I would not leave her do it again now that I know all the risks involved . My youngest daughter is 16 and I won't let her. |
Wow...I didn't even think of what damage could be done in your mouth...I guess it makes sense.
As for the question of my piercing...you know...down there. I had no problems walking...if I had...it would have come out too! I have had it for 6 years...and no problems. My bellybutton was the worst...I swear it took 3 years to heal completely! |
Got my ears pierced back in the 70's when only one hole in each ear was required. That was enough for me.
In the 80's I got a really not so cool tatoo/piercing combination on my right thigh. It runs from just where the leg starts half way down to the knee. No needles or ink were used, but like everyone else, its there for life. I got mine when a 2000 lb. truck decided to smash me between my car and car door. I have these not so cool tatoos (scars) on the other leg from skin grafts they used after they closed the piercing (hole) the best they could. Extra holes and tatoos. No thanks. I'd do the face paint thing though. But, I do think some tatoo's are cool, just not for me. Hubby and son both have one. Brother-in-law has one of an eagle on his back that is gorgeous! |

OMG, I had my ears peirced in 1978. I feel old. Thanks a lot mouthy. |
Hi,
Been reading this with interest and now finally have time to post. I love tatoos and piercings! Although don't have any except in my ears. When I was younger I wanted a tiny butterfly on my shoulder or something. Now that I've matured I can be often heard saying," If I were to get one..it'll be a big hunking tatoo that covers my back..no little one for me!" However, since I don't have the cash...chances are it's not going to happen. I'd get a tiger or wolf I think but according to aboriginal culture my "totem" is the butterfly..ha ha go figure. The animal chooses you not vice versa according to this belief from what I was told. Butterflies always land on me...so hense my "totem" animal spirit quide is supposedly this little creature. My son bugged me for years to get one and I kept saying nope...nope..then one year we were in Paris and saw Henna Tattoos being offered on the street..so we each got asian looking ones on our arms..they lasted 3 wks. Ironically, just this week one of the student teachers whom was assigned to work with me had a labret. After reading this post, I realized I was staring at it each time I talked to her instead of her eyes. I told her about this and we had a bit of a chuckle or else It would never have occurred to me that I was doing it. Some of you know I am also involved in magic. Magicians love tatoos..many of them have various predicted cards..(usually the Ace) tatooed on their arms or chest. One enterprising fellow has a huge one that goes from under his arms to the top of his pant line...owww. One of my closest girlfriends whom was a Ministers Daughter (both her parents were) had dredlocks down to her waist and a body full of tattoos and piercings. Still the same girl that I grew up with only the exterior has changed. I think it's becoming more mainstream and people don't really blink twice ..but yup.. curious to see what all those old bodies are going to look like someday. Marianne and the boys |
I dare one you to get a tattoo of a sheepie! |
I'm a big wuss when it comes to pain. There are no holes in my body other than the ones I was born with. No tattoos, either. However, my legs are quite speckled with scars from bug bites that are still healing. I am very sensitive to mosquito bites - I had over 40 on my right leg alone on 4th of July this summer. I am aware that there is a new trend of self-inflicted scars as "body art". (Not the case here, just circumstantial.) ~Katie. |
A sheepie..hummmmmmm that would be interesting.. |
LOL!!sheepie tat, that would be sooooo cute... Talk about scars.I have big ones, litle ones, huge ones.Being a child w/ ADD that was never caught due to my "moms" neglect,I was always bleeding from a limb!!LOL!!I have this one where my sister ran me over w/ my big wheel and skidded out on my skin.I have another on my back that goes from shoulder blade to shoulder blade,I was getting up on my horse and she started walking fast and my back scraped along the fence right over barbed wire!! .Fun scar.then on my elbow I fell off of my horse on the black top,my foot got caught in the sturrup, and was dragged on the black top,my elbow bone was just sticking out all nice and white!! I wont even go into all the scars from surfing and getting nasty scrapes along coral.(beginner then)The scars from my "mom" punishing me.So scars too me are ugly, and alot of people use tats too cover up these ugly reminders of pain. The whole "getting old and having tats" come on is it really going too matter? Is tats going too be your biggest worry of ageing? Not for me.I beleive ALL bodies are beautiful, big, little, black white, old, young, smooth or not.I guess it all depends on how vain you are.Maybe some are think people really pay that much attention on them. The fact is nobody cares, but people w/ tats usually get comments like "wow!!thats beautiful!"I always get "that is so cute".I think as I age my concerns will be mainly on health, and not if my tats are streching,or if my skin is getting wrinkly.I have seen many elders w/ tats, and no of course they do NOT look all fresh and new,but its great too have something too talk about w/ someone who your going to be getting very personal w/.Brings up alot of great memories for people.and some not so great. If I am still on this forum when Im 60ish Ill be happy too take a pic and show all who are curious on what a tat loks like after 30something yrs on me.Some people never seem too age.The best thing is LOTION!! |
yeah - to your question i'm only 17 but have 11 piercings and 4 tattoos. i have my ears pierced twice in each lobe. I have my lip pierced and my nose which i hardly ever wear. I also have my tongue pierced both ways. Horizontally was the most painful of all my piercings as they had to slide the needle over a vein but once in it looked amzing and people always comment on it. I have my right nipple pierced which is highly amuzing to wear a lacy neglige because you can't - it get caught. then i have somewear down there pierced which was completly painless and finally i have the back of my wrist pierced which is also another conversation starter. I had on everytime i had a little extra money and i love them all as they symbolise good times in my childhood. My tattoos is each initial of my name a 'B' on one breast and a 'D' on the other they only measure about a cm high and are in simple black but they are in dragon symbols cos it's fascinates me. and my other two are two stars on my elbows - now they hurts because you can feel he needle vibrations through your bone but i'd do them again and wouldn't change anything |
I just have my ears pierced - one hole in each ear.
I thought about a tattoo after losing my daughter. There were a lot of butterflies around when we buried her, so since then, butterflies have held a special meaning for me. Sometimes, I think it would be nice to have a butterfly tattoo with Kayla (her name) written somewhere to kinda carry her with me. But...I bought a butterfly necklace and just wear it, lol My parents would kill me if I got one...even for that reason. I'm still scared of them at 26, lol |
I think tattos and peircings are great...but only when someone has them as a part of there personal style as apposed to just get attention. I had my brow and bellybutton done. Eyebrow was a crappy job and it FELL out.Now I have a big honkin' scar that everyone notices and comments on. The belly had to come out when I was pregnant with my youngest...never put it back (after a baby the last place I want to draw attention to is my tummy)
I LOVE tattos!!!! I think they are more accepted now, it seems like there not just for certain ppl now. esp. with shows like miami ink and Inked (love watching them!) I have had a tatto designed for me for a few years now just trying to gain the courage and money to get it done. The other thing is finding the right artist to do it. |
been wanting to, but lacking the courage. |
I just got my cartilage (sp?) peirced about a week about .. When I was 16 I got my ears pierced for the first time and then when I was 18 I got a second set of holes in my ear and then now I'm 20 and just got my cartilage pierced! |
i have my ears pierced twice at the bottom and my left one pierced at the top..
I also have my eyebrow pierced and just below my lip.. My fiance has his eyebrow pierced.. i would love to have a tatto but im not brave enough |
iv read alot and for those that are scared you can get a numbing cream so you dont feel it as much, iv used this for pierceings and it works well. as for the age old what about when your old what will they look like, well personally ill be more worried about being able to wipe my own bum than what any tattoos look like, iv none yet but busy designing them, big into pierceings at the mo got 9 genital pierceings and used to have lip done and ear done |
I do not have pierced ears or any tatoos. I do no like pierced ears. Well maybe because I do not like jewerly. I think earings look tacky on women especially those long dangling earings. How gross!
And tatoos are also a no no. I would never do that to my body. Mary |
Hey! I'm wearing a pair of long silver hoops!! |
Im sorry. I did not mean to insult anyone but earing are not to my liking.
Mary |

How else can one be sure to be as clean as a whistle? |
Pt admitted from the ER - report from the ER nurse to the floor:
66 year old man. History of ETOH treatment x4. Found outside a bar tonight face down in the snow by a passerby. Large laceration and hematoma to right forehead. Says he has 5 tattoos. We found 4. He needs a catheter inserted - I'm sure you will find the 5th one..... We did. Involved a dolphin and a fish. |

Truth is always funnier than fiction. I think I saw that tattoo in Sturgis. He was hangin' out with the multiple genital piercing group. Reminds me of a story from the Laconia NH motorcycle week........ |

Most of you know I was a ER/Transport nurse. Years ago, in the late 70's we had a 70+ year old grandma come in, in cardiac arrest. Granny had what once must have been a stunning long stemmed yellow rose on her left breast. Lets just say, as with a real rose the tattooed ones do wilt with age. Everytime I have thought about a celtic cross on my ankle...I just can't get that wilted rose out of my mind |
We just had a 73 y.o. lady on our unit. If the wilted rose lady had implants like this one, her rose wouldn't be wilted!! |
I spent 13 years in the Cardiac Cath Lab scrubbing groins, you don't wven WANT me to tell you the things I saw THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I had two holes in each ear when I played in a band they came out two or three years ago. I still have my nipple pierced. I have two tats one on shoulder and one on back. |
I have a Maltese cross on my back. My dad and his whole family is from Malta. Malta is just south of Sicily and no it's not a part of Italy. |

No kidding. I guess I am old too. Also, being a Jew pretty much keeps me away from all that stuff. I have my ears pierced...one in each ear. My brother and my niece have tattoos though. No thanks. |
