Kayli is lying under my chair and Bentley is lying two feet away from her; both are being quiet and it's just minutes from dinner time. Earlier, Kayli was walking around with a squeaky toy again, just squeaking away and totally confusing Bentley. This is a huge improvement over just a couple weeks ago. |

so happy for you, hope it keeps up |
Maybe now Kayli can claim her rightful place as alpha! Plus all the training you've been doing with Bentley is definitely paying off!
Yay! Chris |
I'm glad they are doing so well.... you've done a great job with Bentley boy! |
WooHoo! Go get 'em Floof Kayli! |

Wow!! That's great!! Good job!! |
YEAH BENTLEY!!!! I knew you could do it |
Bosley lays at my feet, or just out the kitchen door, when I am eating. Any time he used to sit next to me, drooling, I would ignore him. Then, when he would lay down sooner or later I would give him a small smidgent of whatever I had. He now knows that if he lays nice he will get something eventually, but he never got anything by sitting or standing at the table or counter.
Funny tonite I gave him a piece of cooked macoroni noodle, but a larger than normal type of pasta. He got up and took it to his "place", and nudged it, and licked it, and then started to play with it. I wasn't sure he still had it, so I called his name and he looked up from where he was laying with his head ON TOP of his noodle. My 14 yr old son and his buddy had a great laugh as I exclaimed "Watch Bosley playing with his noodle!" When he finally tried to eat it he chewed it forever, and spit it out whole, and then tried again. I guess the texture was really weird for him. Folks will say "you shouldn't ever feed the dog from the table", but if you use it as a reward, it is better than him stealing it. The mother of the Thief Wanna-be, Bosley... |
Hey that's great news about Bentley and Kayli!! Like the others I think you've done a fantastic job! While difficult, it is so rewarding when moments like you describe occurs and then happen on a more frequent basis.
Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done!! Bosley's mom..I can see why your son and his friend laughed...count me in!! LOL Marianne and the boys |
I was thinking about you last night, Jil, as I had this very sentiment! I kept asking myself if I was in the right house -were those two really my dogs?? They were being soooooooooo good!!
I was almost afraid to post this, lest I jinx myself and they're terrors tonight! Well...we did have one little incident...while I was hooking up my computer monitor, Genevieve disappeared for awhile. She was being so quiet - I thought she was being good. When she came back into the office, she had something brown in her mouth chewing it. I took it away from her, of course, to see what she had. It was pumpernickle. I had put on the counter a loaf of pumpernickle scooped out with veggie dip inside and she had eaten the whole thing. I was afraid she'd be sick from it, but so far, so good. It was funny to watch her, though, she kept trying to lick the roof of her mouth, where I assume the veggie dip was sticking...LOL Bosley's Mom - very funny story about your boy! |
Honeycomb??? They still make that?? |
