THe "umphhh" factor...using their weight

Every nite it is the same thing......9:30PM rolls around and Bosley is flaked out, on his side, in the hallway. I have to literally heave him to his feet, then he hobbles to the back door to go out for his last piddle. He stumbles out the door, into the attached garage, I open the garage door for him to go out to the yard. He takes one long look at the dark yard, and flops down onto the cement floor of the garage...umpph....He is not going anywhere. Again, I have to lean over, wrap my arms under his big belly and heave him up to his feet, and push him out the door. I quickly shut it, and go inside for a few minutes to prepare for nighttime. It is like he knows very well that if he lays down it will take a big effort for me to get him up again, so he stages a "lay-in". What a brat!

That's pretty funny. How old is he?
Same here! You're not alone with that 9:30 pm,
stop at the door, give paw, flop down and roll on side.

He will give in and go out (and always has to do his business)

But, oh the looks I get when we are walking back to the house

(Fred Flintstone had an easier time getting Dino out !)
LOL.... what a dog....
Its ironic that you say that!! When Brian works an ambo shift..he gets home at midnight...I usually leave Panda inside with me and let him put her out when he gets home....the other night he asked me to put Panda out before he got home...it seems that he had to pick her up to get her to go outside..she wasnt budging...he said that it seemed like she was purposely using the dead weight so as not to have to move....
Valerie, Bosley just turned 7 months old on Nov 1st, and is around 55 pounds.
Yeh, Darcy, that dead weight is definitely used to their advantage. Bosley likes to lay down at my feet, between me and the kitchen sink, while I am doing dishes. It is awfully hard to shove over a big, heavy beast with your foot. Gettin near impossible, actually.

Wait until 18 mos. and 93 lbs 8O
LOL...I am really lucky at 2 Panda only weighs in at 56 lbs...heavy enough for me...But Brian still can move her....it's funny how at 12-1 am how 56 lbs seems like 156 lbs....I say...let a sleeping dog lie....
haha, i remember those days..

Clyde likes to lie right next me, well, pretty much all the time, but especially while I'm in the kitchen where we have hard floors. James comes in and pushes him around the floor like a giant Swiffer. Clyde lets him spin him in circles too. He seems to like it because he never resists but he always gets up a little dizzy!

Lol. No kidding. When Clyde steps on my foot, it hurts!

When you're walking around, make sure
you're going in the right direction.............
or you'll get the "hook"

They can wrap their foot around your ankle and
halt you to a stop faster than a cowboy can rope a calf.
Its all part of the standard features on the
Sheepie sports model.............
Wow..Zahra...I never even thought that that was a common trait....Panda does that ALL the time..especially out in the backyard playing....

Hi Darcy,

Its that herding instinct, combined with a mind of their
own.

We have to be careful, or it can be turf to orthopedics for us!

:)

Panda is still a cutie!
