, giving his Medication and hidrating him (gatorade, serum, and jello),watching every time he pooped... his tummy was hurting a lot since he kept crying and all he wanted was me beside him rubbing his belly..... but the story continues.......... On saturday I came down with an Intestinal infection and got very ill (better now....still on meds) (Dr. says it has nothing to do with Pisco been sick before) the thing is that I had to stay in bed for 4 days with many trips to the bathroom ....but Pisco seemed to realize that something was wrong with mommy....He crawled into bed with me and won`t leave my side for anything when I had to have an IV with saline serum put on he stayed by my side and just watched the IV all the way...my husband told that every night while I was asleep Pisco just had his head on the beside by me and every time I mumble something or was restless because of the fever he would whine and go to his side of the bed and nudge him until He (Cris) would look at me..and tell him (Pisco) don`t worry she`s ok....and even right now while I am at the computer he is beside me with his head on my lap ..... I think is his way of saying "thank you...you took care of me now is my turn".... sorry If the story got a little long but I just had to share it with you all. Vero and Pisco. |

Too cute! - I swear these dogs are far more sensitive and intelligent than we give them credit for.... |
I believe our dogs can sense when something is wrong. I recently lost my beloved mother and was off in a room by myself crying. Truman, who is usually quite the active puppy, quietly came into the room and walked up to me and laid his head against my leg. I swear he looked at me with compassion in his eyes. I believe he knew I was heartbroken and was trying to comfort me. |
Hi Vero,
That's a wonderful story and I have no doubt Pisco knew you were ill and tried to be of comfort to you. Dogs sense our moods and even the most rambuncious become gentle around their family if they are ill. Hope you feel better soon and thanks for sharing this story. |
