Any suggestions? Must be simple, and I like to be unique as there is 20 kids in the class. We have thought of being a butterfly...butterfly poem to the tune of teddy bear teddy bear...or a potatoe...one potatoe two potatoe etc. The Mother Goose rhymes are mostly stupid sounding except for the big favorites. Humpty Dumpty, jack be nimble, jack and Jill... Now I am not sure to her meaning of rhymes...I like the Bumble Bee song. |

Mary had a little lamb
Mary, Mary quite contrary Little Bo Peep London Bridges falling down, my fair lady My favorite is Little Bo Peep, you could use a stuffed sheep and the costume wouldn't be difficult. Sounds like fun! |
How Fun is that!
this website has a list of nursery rhymes (a really long list). http://www.zelo.com/family/nursery/index.asp My favorites are: Hey Diddle Diddle (a cat with a fiddle) Three Blind Mice Knick Knack Paddy Whack (give a dog a bone) I also like the Bo peep one |
I'd just be Jill but that would be really easy for me.
Jill |
Or you could be Jil |
Helen,
It was Jack and Jill not Jack and Jil. That would be cheating... |
thanks for the website, I did a search earlier and came up with many of the same ones.
I'm a little worried that many of the other girls will be Bo Peep, or Mary with a Lamb, Mary Quite Contrary, Miss Muffet... I wonder if I should suggest a list and have as many different choices so that we all don;t show up in the same thing. I found these earlier... Butterfly, Butterfly (2). (Sung to the tune of Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear) Butterfly, Butterfly, flutter around. Butterfly, Butterfly, touch the ground. Butterfly, Butterfly, fly so free. Butterfly, Butterfly, land on me! Butterfly, Butterfly, reach the sky, Butterfly, Butterfly, say good-bye! I'm a Little Butterfly. (Sung to the tune of I'm a Little Teapot) (Midi sequence by kind permission of www.mathesonfamily.ca) I'm a little Butterfly, l have wings, I fly around and see all things. When l see a flower that looks great, I call out to all of my mates. Madelyn wants to be the potatoe in: One potatoe, Two potatoe, Three potatoe Four... She also liked the idea of the Cat and the fiddle... We have a LadyBug sortof costume...ladybug ladybug fly away home |
Hey Rosa, you look pretty good considering the circumstances |
Ladybug!
But potato would be very cute too. I don't know the butterfly or teddybear song. |
A Ladybug would be so cute. This project sounds like so much fun!!
I once had the opportunity of dressing up little ones (Kindergarten kiddies) to be Jacks...complete with candlesticks (made out of a toilet paper roll and tissue paper for the flame) Jack be nimble, Jack be quick Jack jump over the candle stick. Marianne and the boys |
What about the owl and the pussy cat..went to sea in a pea green boat...lalalalala....(sorry for the lalala, Kim got me into it this morning) |
How bout OOEY GOOEY?
Ya Know.... Ooey gooey was a worm a mighty worm was he he crawled up on the rail road tracks the train, he did not see OOOEY GOOEY OK, so it's not a nursery rhyme, but it's a rhyme |
Baa Baa Black Sheep
Have you any wool? Yes Sir Yes Sir Three Bags Full One for the Master One for the Dame And one for the little boy that lives down the lane. A little Black Sheep would be different! |
What about Fuzzy Wuzzy the bear?
Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear Fuzzy wuzzy had no hair Fuzzy wuzzy wasn't fuzzy, was he? A furless bear should not be too hard! Of course, if it had been me as a little girl- I would have gone as myself: There was a little girl, who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead And when she was good She was very, very good And when she was bad she was horrid That'd be easy, if your daughter has curly hair- just make sure one falls down her face, make sure she dresses in a nice little dress (a christmas or easter one) and voila! Let us know what she goes as! So cute!!! Karen |
Okay I made a decision, after talking to the teacher. it will be nursery rhyme's from Mother Goose...the traditional ones.
So I am gonna send her as Jack and Jill (literally). Half her body will be Jack and the other half will be Jill. Jack will have a bandaid across his crown and ripped jeans, baseball cap and Jill will be in old fashioned white dress with apron petticoat, and a bonnet. I'll take pictures. She will carry and sand pail with the word WATER written on the front. |
