Our Fergie is gone over the Rainbow
We new when she was given to us she had a bad heart, but the average age is 3 years old when they die. Fergie was only 6 months old. From what I understand the aorta had burst, she didn't have a chance. We gave her the best life that a puppy could have. We loved her so much. I had spent last night playing ball with her. She was so happy. She had SAS. It is always fatal. This happens one in 500 litters. She had been on meds but it must have been so bad that it was not enough. Kept thinking maybe if I didn't let her play so much, it would have helped. She is in heaven playing with our Kassie. Running bumping into everthing like she did here. Hope she can make everyone up there as happy as she made us. She had touched so many lives, guests fell in love with her at first sight. Fergie I will miss you, I loved you more than life it's self. You will always be in my heart. You touched me so. You were a good girl. My heart is breaking with your passing. Love, Mommy  |

| I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your little girl. It always is tough to lose our friends, more so it seems when they are so young. Take comfort in the fact that she passed doing what she loves, and that her life was joyful and pain free, we should all be so lucky. My deepest condolences to you and your family as you grieve. | Me too! I am so sorry! That is just devastating when only moments ago, we were all cooing at her gorgeous grooming pics. Fergie had such a good, happy, much-loved life with you. It is awful and unfair that it was cut too short but I am sure every minute she spent playing was well worth it to her. Poor sweetie. She was so beautiful. My heart goes out to you.

| Oh Deana. I'm so sorry. You gave as much as you could to Fergie and loved her all that you could. This was just her time, and even if you hadn't let her play as much, she probably still would have gone today, so at least she left happy. |

I'm so sorry. As soon as I logged on and saw the banner, my eyes filled with tears. I can't even imagine howw you must be feeling right now but take solace in that you gave her a wonderful, loving home where she was happy and loved by all. You let her live a happy, quality life by letting her play and have fun like other dogs and, if she could've talked, she would have been happy to have lived a shorter life that she loved than a sheltered life that would've given her a little more time. | Fergie's life was short, but realize she was loved. So many dogs, even sheepdogs, are not loved. They don't have a caring home, someone to play with, someone who kisses their nose, smells their toes and loves them unconditionally.
Tears are expected, but some should be for the joy Fergie and you shared together. It is tragic, though, there could not be many more play times together. |
| Oh my, what to say. I was totally unprepared to read this. Sitting here with tears streaming down my face knowing the pain you must be feeling is a thousand time worse. I am so very very sorry. No matter how prepared or how much you know something is going to happen you NEVER EVER EXPECT it to happen. The first thing I had to do after reading your post was to click on your camera and look at Fergies photos (thanks so much for the cameras Ron) just to kinda pay a little bit of a tribute.

| I'm soooooo very sorry for your sadness. I can see your Fergie playing ball now with the Master himself. We never know how long we'll have our loved ones. They're only loaned to us for a short time to love and care for. I'm happy that you were able to share your love with one another and that you were spared the possibility of having to make a very difficult decision later. When we recently chatted about her medical condition, you expressed your desire for her to beat the odds for her life span based on her condition. I couldn't but help feel so much admiration for you as I did with Jil and her Belle. Both of you provided forever homes to those that needed it the most and were selfless in your actions. | I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I regret posting so late... I just have a very hard time reading this section (the tears are flowing for you). You gave Fergie a wonderful gift... you chose to keep her despite her health condition and the heartbreak you knew would one day come. There are people who choose to avoid the pain but they loose out on the wonderful times and love that these special dogs give us. Thanks for giving her a kind and loving home for the time she had... you're a very special person. Hugs to you. |
