Literally just now, he did it, then turned and looked at me as if to say "Don't you hear that?" Is it a full moon? Is my baby all growned up now? Big man with a big bark? |

I love the big kid bark...sooooo scary...NOT...Panda still seems surprised every time she barks! |
Chummie barks and wiggles and looks so goofy and excited -- like a 2 yr old. it is adorable. she also howls with the firetrucks, which is surprisingly soulful. |
Winston barks quite a bit at night. It is like oh daddy went to bed, now I need to protect mommy. He barks at any noise he hears, other dogs on tv and you know he knows he is not supposed to bark because he uses this quite woof! lol |
Dancer never did get a big girl bark, she sounds like a poodle, and she is so yappy the last couple of weeks! *sigh* gotta love her....lol... |
Max tends do be more barky when it's dark outside, my kids think he sees spirits. He also barks when people walk by our house, he doesn't scare them, they just think it's cute. The last few nights on our walks he barks at halloween things, like a scarecrow on a porch, or big inflated pumpkins. He is also frightened by balloons and will be afraid to walk by one when it is tied to a tree or something!! Very silly doggies |
Tuc and Bogey both bark at anything that goes by the house, which we live in town so when people drive or ride a bike, or walk, or god forbid the neighbor kids are out, they bark like crazy. Tuc is getting is big boy bark. Bogey has a nice loud bark, but when we tell him no bark, he will whisper wont stop barking but its lowered to whisper level lol |

We have a big inflatable vampire out front and it makes Bailey crazy. We let him out and show it to him up close, but he still wants to bark at it from the living room window. I guess it's just new and different. Can't wait to see his reaction to the Xmas reindeer |
Nothing quite like the big dog bark! It's like graduation when they finally get their big dog bark.
Pooh may have discovered conditioning you too. If he barked and you let him out, played with him or generally interacted with him, he could be trying to figure out what else he can get you to do by barking. Pavlov in reverse. Could also be he's just discovered his voice too. Sometimes it's like a revelation to them. Hey where did this come from? Other than that, I vote that it's close to Halloween and there's some being antagonizing the Pooh. |
Murphy is very vocal! Especially when I come home from work and it's time for their afternoon walk! It's like he's telling me about his day...he wiggles his little nub like crazy all the while!!!! He sounds like a yappy poodle too!
The Gooch very rarely says a peep...he is the quietest sheepie I've ever had! He always looks at Murphy while he's going thru the after work routine like he's crazy! The Gooch just sits and waits for me to come to him! I think that my training from a pup was valuable, and the party maybe over for Murph! Time for a little alpha training!!! |
