Oh my you're right! I glanced at it but it hadn't registered with me what the sheepie was doing! Very cute!!
Yikes! When I first saw this I thought it was a 2 headed sheepie!

Very cute, though...
They really are adorable!

And your avatar is perfect! Is this your counter surfer??

It does look like a two headed sheepie!

But, they're adorable!! Hope they get good homes! :D
Are they ever cute. Poor things...
Argh...I am the 2 headed Sheepie monster!

So cute...... So sad!!!!!
How adorable, so black and white and fuzzy. Sigh... they do remind me of Bailey in his puppy days.
OMG, how cute are they? Wish I could have both.
Gosh, they sure look well bred and taken care of to be at a shelter, don't they? :?

I hope they are able to go to a home together!

Thankfully I do NOT live close...I don't think any of the previous mentioned advice to get your husband to agree to more sheepies would work if I brought home 2 at the same time!

OMG, I though the same thing!

Those 2 are probably gone already, they're adorable. They really made me want another puppy!
I emailed them and just heard back, their still available! This will take a lot of coaxing with my husband. I'll have to see how much the adoption fees are.
My husband's a no, he says it's too far to go to pick up the pup, it's nearly 8 hours from Chicago. I guess will continue to look locally.

I'm hoping someone will adopt them, their just too cute to stay at a shelter!
How much was adoption-- will they adopt out of state? Are they a package deal only? Mom mentioned something the other day about being ready for a dog again and Ohio is no big deal for me.
Hey There, they said they were $600 for both. Not sure if that makes it a "package deal." Their twins though, so cute it would be great to keep them together!

I'm not sure if about whether or not they prohibit out of state adoptions, I don't t hink so. I emailed them about the pups and they respond very quickly.
Aw, man. Now I gotta call! I just talked to my mom and, as luck would have it, she has the day off tomorrow and she'd like to go meet them. She'll only do one though so I have to find out. I asked James if we could have the other and I got a big "NO WAY!"
I would think that they would adopt them separatly, it would be tough to find someone to take both!

I hope it works out!
I called and e-mailed. Just waiting now. I'm gonna try to get her to take both. I'll pay for them, I just think it would be nice if they weren't separated. She has a 3000 sq ft. house and 70 acres so having enough room isn't a problem! I think the biggest factor in having 2 for mom will be how much housetraining they've had!
Gosh I hope she gets them! :D
I agree, the housetraining would be a factor. Keeping them together would be so great, especially because they really do look like twins! Same markings!

I wonder what the story is on the pups. If you find out, can you share?
Absolutely. I'm dying to know too!
I e-mailed them about the twins and filled out an application, she told me she wanted $600 for both of them and that she was looking at all the applicants and should know in a couple of days who will get them .That was on friday ,the lady told me to call back in a day or two, so I did a number of times no one answered and I e-mailed her too, I haven't heard from her since. I live in TX and was willing to make arrangements for their pick up and then would have them flown to me. I was willing to pay for it. My OES died this august and I wanted to help another OES or two. It's so irritating to read that she had e-mailed you today Hendrix's mom, I figured she was out of town or something. She is just avoiding me I quess. I have two other dogs right now ,but two more wouldn't have been a problem. It's so frustrating ,she somehow thinks I am not suitable to be their owner and they are still available today. I just hope someone will take those fur kids and give them good home ,hopefully they will stay together. I had never adopted before from a rescue, I have a couple of stray animals that I got of the streets. I know they (rescue groups) have the best of intentions and want the animals to go to furever homes ,but it seems its easier to go buy a dog then to help one from a rescue. it's so frustrating , if there is something about my applications that makes me not suitable I just can't figure it out, but her avoiding me and not answering ,just irritates me

Sorry for the long and a bit negative post. I really do hope that those two cuties will go to a home where they will be loved. Thanks for hearing me out.

Tanya :(
When I talked to them on friday she told me out of state adoption wasn't a problem . I hope you get them Butterscotch and your mom having a lot of place for them to run would be perfect . It was $600 for both of them together. She said she got them from a nespaper listing from a breeder they were free to a good home. They look so adorable .

Hope it will work out for you . :) :)

Tanya
Free to a good home!? WOW! Maybe someone can get the breeders name! Looks like the shelter is going to make some money, a good donation.

Tanya - I'm really suprised that they've taken this long to answer to you! My replies to emails came within minutes. I was going to originally call, but couldn't find a phone number on their website. Sorry to hear about all the troubles you've gone through. If you aren't selected as their parent, you should ask why your application was denied, for future sake.

I'm hoping they stay together! Their the perfect twins!!
I'm also still waiting for a response too-- she must just like you Hendrix's Mom. Free to a good home from a breeder? That sounds pretty fishy now. Now that I know a lot of other people are interested and are trying to get them but it's just taking a long time I think that I won't pursue it. I'd hate to snatch them away from someone who could also give them a good home, especially together. My mom may not take them both but it sounds like there are others who are already willing to do so.
It's funny because when I send her first e-mail on thusrday night she responded fast on friday morning telling me they were $600 and if I was stll interested I then called and talked to her that friday morning and that was it. I called friday night ,saturday a few times and sunday and then I e-mailed on saturday too and no response at all. $ 600 is a lot of money and 2 sheepdogs together, I don't think a lot of people would take two at the same time. I really do hope they find a good home for them . I wish I could get them ,but I guess it's not meant to be.

Tanya
im happy to see that there are one or more family who wants them. theyre beautiful!! hope they get to be together!!!
should i email the shelter back and see if anyone else is interested? a little interrogation?
She actually just called back and I just got the message this morning. Apparently, she's had a lot of applicants but she said none of them seemed to be panning out to be as good as she had hoped or originally thought. She also said that she'd really rather place them together but she would separate them for the right homes. I understand the idea of keeping them together and I'm going to talk to my mom again before calling her back. Mom's never had 2 dogs at once before, let alone two puppies! I'd much rather see them be kept together so, like I said, if someone else can do that I'd much rather the dogs be given to the home that can give them the best situation.
*fingers crossed* hope your mom will accept two! :D
Lol. She's probably gonna kill me for suggesting it! I can hear it now, "Jill, I'm too old for this, blah, blah, blah." I can be very enticing though, some might even call it manipulative...
YES! Manipulate your mom!!

That sounds so bad!
Use your charm, Jill! :D
Good luck Jill! And for anyone else who is still interested in those cuties, I think it is definitely worth following up to find out on what she is basing her determination that other applicants haven't panned out.
Tell your mom that if she has 1 dog she'll regret not taking the other one. We wish we could have picked up a sister from Hendrix's litter, but there were none left. She'll love one so much she'll want a play mate for the other. Plus having a play mate for the dog takes a lot of the trouble away, at least I believe. Hendrix is always more calm after a play date because he's so tired! Plus, their already 6 months now, if they were 8 weeks old it would be tough. I hope she does it!
Hi-
If your mom is considering adopting these two sheepie-pups, below are some things to consider... the possible challenges and benefits.

The Work & Money Side- Consider that with two, you have double the food; double the toys, leashes, collars; double the "clean-up" after them; double the vet bills, licensing and heartworm meds; double the bathing/grooming; double the training.

The "Heart" Side- You get double the love. AND a VERY big plus is they entertain each other! One of our vets even pointed this out as a positive before we got our 2 sheepie-sisters. And did I mention double the love? :)

I never knew what it was like until we got Emma & Darby... two littermate sisters. Then Kaytee & Panda... not littermates but close to the same age of under 1 year. They are really worth the added effort and money required. Please keep us posted!
OK 6Girls -- I'm making an official request that you post some pictures. Before the avatars were removed  I was utterly charmed by your picture of 4(?) sheepies in a doorway. I'd love to see more!
Valerie

It's kind of hard to find out what she is basing it on since they will not return my calls and won't answer the e-mail . I hope you get them Butterstotch and your mom won't mind taking two. Good luck! :o :o :o

Tanya
Tee-hee Yeah... it's 4 sheepies-girls and 2 mixed-up girls.

Gotta figure out how to do it first :? I was reading the instructions one morning but got sidetracked. Then all the avatar pics disappeared and I thought I had commited a faux pas (yeah... I had to look up the spelling of that word). I even wrote to Ron to see what I had done wrong.

I hope to get to it early some morning. Until then...

Lol. You don't have to sell me-- I have 2 already too! I will add your arguments to my own though--thanks! Where are you in Michigan by the way?

Tanya, it seriously bums me out that she hasn't returned your calls. On her message she didn't specify what her "standards" were and I wish she would call you back because it sounds like you really want them and could give them a good home. Maybe it's the transportation issue and she doesn't want to fly them out? I actually feel kind of bad pursuing it knowing that other people want them. I just want them to go to a good home!
So cute! All those millions of pictures. And I love all the 'decorating' you do on your dogs!
Buttersstotch

Don't feel bad if someone wants them and they are closer to OH then pupps don't have to travel, it is better for them. When I talked to her that one time I made sure she new that I was in TX and she told me that out of state wasn't a problem. I hope your mom can take them. They do look adorable, I am not pursuing it anymore. Keep us posted if you get them, I wish you the best.

Oops... did it again.
Good for you for having two! If you're up to the work and financial commitment, isn't it actually easier to have two? I mean, if you have to let one out, what's one more? You have get breakfast/dinner ready for one anyway... why not two? Right now my two youngsters are playing tug-a-war with a toy and occupying each other. But if you have to walk them on a leash, THEN it can be a big challenge especially if the like to pull.

If you look at the palm of your right hand, I'm at the top of your pinky.
I'm crossing my fingers, hoping they stay together. They'll be traffic stoppers for sure, their markings are identical to each others.

Yes, what happened to our avatar pictures? I thought my computer was screwed up. I love talking to all of you, but I started identifying everyone by the picture. What happened?

Good luck with the pups!

Any update on the twins? :? :?

Tanya
Jaclin, I'm up in TC, are you up this way?
I'm in East Bay township... still waiting for the township to issue free underwear to everyone  Sorry... gotta live here to understand that one.

Gee whiz... and we've never seen each other at PetSmart or the Civic Center or just walking down town. (We would have immediately cornered you to ask about your sheepies!) We've seen another sheepie named I think Sadie at the Civic Center and one sheepie-pup at PetSmart about 8 months ago but that's been it. Where've you been hiding? Just kidding... we haven't gotten out for walks in a while now.
hi. what's up with the twins?
So what happened with the twins?
