A PetFinder Sheepie in Osgood Indiana

Hi-
If anyone is hoping to adopt a special sheepie that's had a rough time there is girl posted on PetFinder. She looks more like a mix but it could be simply poor nutrition. Anyone that would hit a dog in the head with a hammer because she barks probably didn't provide well for her in other areas of her life either. Below is the link if you think she may be the girl for you...

Sophie
Old English Sheepdog

Notes: Sophie is a little gem....she has a sad story - her previous owners hit her in the head with a hammer because she barked! She lost her vision in one eye as a result. She is safe at the RCHS. Sophie is 1-2 years old...40 pounds and very sweet natured. This pet is: up to date with routine shots, altered.

She's so cute but she looks so sad! Wonder if that former owner would mind if someone took a hammer to their head because they talked too much??? GRRRR!! Makes me so mad when I hear something like this!
Chris
Did they file charges against the owners?
That just makes me sooooo MAD! What??!!! I agree with Chris, someone needs to hit them a few times with a hammer and see how they like it! Poor pumpkin, hope she finds the perfect home!
Somebody needs to hit them in the head with the hammer !!!What dumb ,dumb people. It makes my blood boil when I hear stuff like that.

Poor little thing. She does need some groceries. I hope she finds her furever soon. There's a word for owners like that, but my momma raised me not to use words like that.
My brother has a saying for people like that: "They need to be sixed. Taken 6 miles into the woods and put 6 feet under the ground! I say, give them a Smith and Wesson headache! People like that don't deserve to even look at a dog, let alone have one.
:D
The shelter just wrote to say...

"Thanks for your offer. Sophie is doing just fine. In fact, I think she is going to be adopted soon."

She deserves a kind and loving home where she will be cherished. Hope she will be heading to the perfect one soon. A big thanks to whomever sees "the treasure beneath the fur" and adopts her!
That poor girl :( She deserves a wonderful family to love her.
Poor little Sophie! I hope this is her forever home!!!! She deserves it!!!!

People make me crazy! That is just the stupidest thing I've heard...this week! I really hope some action was taken against these previous owners! I was also thinking how someone even finds out about these things? Did someone see it happening and report it? Or did these people actually tell the rescue when they surrendered Sophie about their training techniques? 8O
Colleen, I think someone evil enough to do that would also be stupid enough to admit it
Poor girl.... how can people do these things?
She definitely looks like a mix, some kind of terrier in there? Again though, it could be lack of nutrition and care.
I hope she has a great new home.
My husband and I felt so bad, we thought about her a lot. Too bad that shelter is so far! If only shelters would ship!
