On Strike
The good thing is everyday I bring along a different furball and they love the long walk, even took pics of them wearing their signs...next to a fire hydrant of course!!

| Geez, Marianne, sorry to hear this. These are never fun. I Hope they settle quickly. 2 yrs ago the UFCW struck the major super markets in St. Louis and we were out for 2 months. Had to get our own health insurance while we were out. We went out the same time of the year, and November and December were cold months. I hope your union gains something from the strike. |

Thanks for all the responses. Groan a strike is awful but this doesn't concern wages but class sizes and students sharing text books, monies for special ed and ESL. Hopefully the government listens and lives up to what they promised..smaller class sizes..ect.. I'll try to post the pics now that I have a new computer!! Marianne and the boys |

| Nope, no strike pay...the goverment seized all union assets which has the whole labour unions up in arms about this. As a result they had unions of all types protest in front of the legislative buildings in support of teachers.
Well least I have my three boys to keep my company on the picket line and they seem to love all the attention. Luckily I have some magic shows coming up this weekend so they'll still get their kibbles. After all the hurricans, tsnami and earthquakes I have nothing to complain about. Marianne and the boys |
Well Marianne, you could always move down here and stay in one of my spare rooms. My best friend is a learning support teacher who is looking for a new assistant. The only qualification is that the applicant can't say eh at the end of all their sentences. Doh, I guess there goes your chance! 
Stay warm, dress in layers, make sure the kids thank you for the extra time off when you do finally go back; hopefully that'll be sooner rather than later! Good luck, hold that sign high! |
Whew good thing I don't say eh!!! Yikes but rereading my post...what awful typing mistakes I've made...groan...so embaressing.  It must have been my poor frozen fingers. 
Dunno about moving in with you Max, although would be a lot of fun..but imagine the chaos with 6 furballs racing around??? Oh would have to bring the cats,rabbit and guinea pig too.
