I know one thing. I'm tired of being a "single" mom. I'm wishing I had a job to go to during the day for a break, lol. Then again, both the boys have been sick and whiny, so that's the biggest reason why. We did get to see my husband for a couple of days last week. That was wonderful. Unfortunatly, we spent the entire time car shopping, but we got him a 2005 Hyundai Tuscon so it wasn't all wasted time. I haven't even ridden in it yet, but he's loving it, lol He's working hard and he's SO ready to come home for good. They've extended his orders even longer though. It's going to be sad not having him home for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or our youngest son's 3rd birthday. He's missed every birthday of our kids but two so far... Jasper is doing awesome. It's cooling off here (low 70s as highs), and he's LOVING the cooler weather. He's getting so spunky lately too...guess the weather has him in a better mood. I'm a terrible sheepie mom, and I STILL haven't finished cutting his hair yet. There's just been SO much going on. That's my goal for this week (if I don't get sick that is). Socks is doing great too! He's growing but still so tiny. I guess he'll be a smaller cat. Hard to believe he just turned 3 months old. Allie isn't doing so great. She went from being the sweetest cat to something straight out of the movie Exorcist. She has become like a Demon Cat and has been hissing and swatting at us. I don't know what's going on with her... I think I need a pet psychologist for her. I took her to the vet and nothing physically is wrong with her. It's pretty weird. Anyone ever had this problem? I guess that's about it for us. Things have just been way too busy, and this is the first time I've had more than 5 minutes to myself since my hubby left. The only thing I'm going to ask for at Christmas is a shower longer than 5 minutes and a nap! Hope you all are doing well and Happy Thanksgiving our Canadian friends here. |

Hi Gail,
Sorry to hear about your hubby having to stay there longer. That must be so hard for you. I have so much admiration for you running the house...taking care of the kids...the animals..etc. I would probably be pulling my hair out. Oh wait... I am and my hubby is here. lol I remember when Ryan was about 2 yrs old I just had to get a job. Even though it was part-time it was my little escape from the house. And I got to socialize with Adults. lol Well if you are lonely or need support... You know where you can find me Elissa |
Hi Gail:
It sure sounds like you have your hands full right now. I'm sorry that your husband your husband has to stay away longer. It does make it a lot more "challenging". As for Allie - she's probably picking up the stress in your life. Have you tried any Bach's Rescue Remedy for her? Just put 4 drops in an ounce of water and give her a a droper full twice a day. This seems to help our cats when they get stressed out. It's also used at the local animal shelter with great results. Good Luck Jennifer, Baxter, Cassiopia and Sharkey |
Congrats on your new vehicle! The Tucson is very sporty looking! I don't like a lot of SUV's because the designers lost all creativity when it came to shape of front and back, but the Tucson catches my eye!
Yay for cooler weather too! I fear getting what you're talking about when it comes to being home with the kids all the time when my husband goes back to Iraq. Hang in there! I hope to organize a lot of support groups for the wives when my husband gets command as I imagine it's needed/wanted. |
Well Gail, I've just a got a great big "Bless Your Heart!!" for you girl!!
You've sure got your hands full and I just admire you to no end for all you have to handle while your husband is away. Anytime you need a sanity check, drop by here! |
Thanks everyone.
I think I'm getting a MUCH needed break this weekend. My parents want to hire the boys to do chores (no idea what since they're only 2 & 4, lol) so they're going over there this weekend. My mom asked me if I wanted to come? She said that I probably didn't want to be all alone the whole weekend. HA! I'm going to sleep, especially since they've been up and down all week since they're sick (well, just my 2 yr old now). I was up until 4 am Tuesday night and had to get my 4 yr old to preschool by 8 that next morning. Of course, since I woke my 2 yr old up to go back with me, he didn't fall asleep again until 10 that night. I was exhausted! Jennifer, what's Bach's Rescue Remedy? I've never heard of that. I just hope she straightens out. I can't have her scratching the boys. Brandon has a big, deep scratch on his leg right now from her. Thanks Elissa - adult conversation is something I'm seriously lacking right now. lol My mom is about the only adult I'm talking to daily & she asks the same questions every single day. I love her to death, but it's driving me crazy, lol I think I'm starting to forget that I'm anything but a Mom, if that makes sense. It's just that's all I seem to have time for right now. Joah, I hope your hubby will get to stay home for all the important days. It's not easy, but it's not easy for them either. Right now, I'm thinking my hubby has the easiest of the jobs though, lol Sorry for the pity party. I'll be my happier self once they're feeling better! |

Enjoy your weekend! |
Hehe...I ended up keeping the kids home this weekend - their coughs and fever resurfaced. Hubby did come home for a few hours today so that made everything worthwhile though. It was REALLY nice getting out of the house for a while. We took the boys to the pumpkin patch since it was in the 80s today, rented some movies, picked up lunch, and came back home and watched cartoons with the boys. It was just a nice, relaxing day. I miss our family days like that. |
Glad you had the time together, even if it was brief!! |
Hi Gail,
Hang in there..some day you will look back on these days and perhaps chuckle..well perhaps that will keep your insanity intact. I know the days must be trying for you and we're all here for you. Big hugs to you Marianne |
