Names
please help us find a name that is unusual and not many dogs have the same name

Welcome to the forum. Have you guys already found a breeder? 
Sorry, I don't have any name suggestions. I like unusual names as well. I wanted to name my cat DAIQUIRI or some other drink. 
Then my husband said that I don't even drink (can count how many times I've had a drink on...okay, not one but both hands ...and 90% of the time, it's with family). So, it didn't seem to fit for us. |

| Choosing the right name can be hard and fun at the same time.
I would try to choose a name that fits your family. Try to think of your life style, hobbies and interest. Use that as your base. Pick several subjects and start making a list. Put down anything you can think of that relates to the subject. The whole family can join in. Somewhere in there you'll find something that you like and is unusual. If you like to travel, get out a map and look for fun sounding towns. Like road races, how about Rally, star gazer - a constellation, parties - confetti. history buff - lots of names there. Have fun you'll find the one that is right for your new family member. |
You will probably hear this one again, but imagine yourself standing on your front porch screaming the name repeatedly. Of course, you will end up with a few "nicknames" that will never ever be mentioned in public.  |

I am first reading this today January 4 and am curious as to what you named your puppy. My little 12 week old sweetie is named Safffron or Saffy for short. It's from that old song that has a line "I'm so wild about Saffron and she's so wild about me" and also Saffron the funny girl in that English comedy Absolutely Fabulous. It suits her. | Just wanted to add my two cents (and four dog names) we named our yellow dog Savannah I can't remember how we decided. Then we rescued a black lab named him Jack (after Jack Daniels) rescued a german shepherd and named her Bailey (after Baileys Irish cream which I do drink but not Jack Daniels) then about 4 months ago we rescued an OESD and I let my husband name him and we named him Guinness( After guess what!?) you would think we are all big drinkers but that is not the case. So I guess we are on a "Booze" theme. People get a kick out of the story. Just as everyone else suggested just look into things around you and things you like to do I have a freind who fishes and she named her cat Grady White I believe it is the name of a boat. | Really cute names! Especially Savannah. Saffron almost got named Angel after our favorite taxi driver (pronounced in the Spanish way "Ahn Hell") here in Lima but she didn't look like an Angel and she certainly doesn't act like one. |
| I was just watching the movie "Garden State" last night and there was a hamster in the movie who's name was "Jelly". I love that name. |
| I like unusual names and also a theme for more then one. Brie came from a kennel and all the pet names were french, "Fleur", "Rueben", "GiGi", "Rene", "jules", "bronte","Andre".
Just a few pet names that were french inspired, so hence the name Brie. |
| How old was Brie in your photo? Saffron looks like that now at 3 months. When do they change color from black to grey? By the way, that french theme is very charming. If we get more, they will have to be named after the other ingredients of paella... come here garlic, rice, chicken, clams, etc. |
