Sheepie People Holiday Card Exchange
I know it's early, but I am sniffing around to see if there is interest in a Sheepie People Holiday Card Exchange. I organized one last year, among two different OES email lists. This year, I'd like to also extend it to the Forum folks, too. Me & the Duds recieved a number of cards from our Sheepie friends, some with excellent photos, too! I made a collage from the photos.  It was a real friendly thing, I thought. Maybe Danita can design a holiday card in her shop? OES cards are hard to find - I had a hard time last year, but I did find cards that had a dog sniffing a snowman (like he was ready to lift his leg) and the snowman with a horrified look on its face. We had 50 families participate last year. | Well...no, actually. But now that you mention it, it's not quite the same as coming home to a mailbox fulla colourful cards from your OES friends. Maybe you'd like to be in on it also, Ron? Though e-cards are a little cheeper. I can compile just the email list of respondants if that would be of interest. ~Katie. |

| I'm curious because I've never done this but... so some of these people are from another website (the oes-L)? Are the people here giving their usernames, so we know who they are? If you give your address, do you write one person or everyone or however many? |
| The answer is yes. Some of the people are from OES-L, some people are from here, and there are some from the sheepie yahoo group, too. Everyone is welcome. If you'd like to include your OES forum name, please include that on the list, and I'll put that on the list when I email it out. Cards are sent out to everyone on the list. Also - as Ron pointed out, there are e-cards from here that can also be sent. I can include email if people want to do that. Just let me know. ~Katie. |

| We are almost up to 30 families on the card exchange list! How exciting! Keep 'em coming. I will be emailing out the master list in about 3 weeks to give everyone time to get themselves together. ~Katie. |
| Katie- This sounds fun, but I get easily confused... Can you explain exactly what occurs for me? Do we send you cards to send to the group, or do you get cards to the whole group, or what? Sigh... thanks for helping my confusion!

| Ok, this is what happens: • People from the OES fourm, OES-L, and the Sheepie yahoo groups are coming together for a Holiday card exchange. • Those who wish to participate email me with their snail-mail address, and I put all the addresses together into a big list. • Closer to Thanksgiving, I email out the big list to all the people that wanted to participate. • Everyone sends each other on the list a holiday card. Some people like to include photos of their families, dogs, etc. (not required)• And finally, everyone has a nicer holiday season, having heard from their internet friends. The idea in this is the bringing of the sheepie community closer together. Sometimes we get separated from each other when we are on different lists or have disagreements on those lists....everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of where they come from. When we did it last year, it was good vibes all around, and everyone had warm fuzzies from seeing the happy faces on the cards and photos that were sent around. | And now we are up to 48 families. The stores are already putting stuff up in some of the stores now. I looked at the lights and decorations at the Lowe's when I was out this afternoon. ~Katie. |
