With the $199 a month 30megabit download and 5 megabit upload speed, that should be fairly sufficient to run a server that would even handle a large set of websites, and all of it's traffic. Of course, I wouldn't dream of doing this right away with oes.org (and probably never) as professional hosting with backup power and multiple routes of access to the internet and all the rest oes.org has, and also such a home-hosted site wouldn't be able to deliver at faster than 5MBit to people who have really fat pipes (like me! ) I wonder if it's ok in the FiOS ToS (Terms of Service) to run a webserver on their 5MBit upload service (or even their 2MBit service)? Something to look into, just for fun! |

LOL! You have an interesting idea of fun But I'll be interested in what you find. I'm just curious, at $199 a month, isn't that more expensive than a hosted service? |

You're one of the few people I know that like to stress for fun! Let us know what you find, I may look into it. |
Just to close this discussion, you may NOT host a webserver over FiOS for residential customers. It's against the ToS AND they block the port (that's just rude, in my opinion). |
