Wow!! It has been a whole month

I was just sitting here rumaging through new posts and I suddenly
realized - it has been an entire month since I smoked my last
cigarette. I had my last on 9/4 - so here it is 10/4, and I am never
lookin back. I have been waiting for a few of the things people say
happen when you quit though, like a renewed sense of taste, more
energy (especially this one!)... I have gotten over the post-quit cough
really quickly. I am certainly enjoying a much larger lung capacity, but
that may be also due to the breathing excercises I did to combat the
cravings at first. They helped immensely - a tip for those yet to quit!

YAY FOR ME!!

Go Shelley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:clappurple: Way to go Shellie!
Congrats, Shellie! This is a big accomplishment! Keep up the good work!
Chris
YEAH SHELLIE!!!!

I have a dentist appointment on the 27th so I'll be in the area. I'll take you out to lunch afterword to celebrate. WooHoo!!!!!!!
Good for you! :clappurple:
KUDOS to you!!
I really wasn't fishing - but thanks all the same!

I wish I had some profound wisdom to share with those who want to
quit and are finding it difficult, but I really don't. Deep breathing
exercises really do help. The first few days you really hack when you
hold a particularly deep breath - but that is sort of insentive, isn't it?
(I have also saved a little money.)

I don't want to pull any muscles here patting myself on the back!
The honest to god truth is -
I was able to quit so easily because ... I am the second most stubborn person on the face of the earth. So here is proof - sometimes
being stubborn is a good thing.

Shellie
It's been over 3 months now!!

Sometimes its hard to believe I ever smoked, but I sure did, for the
majority of my life! I figure for about 24 years actually.

Yay for me again! (trying not to strain myself patting my own back here!)

Shellie
Yah for Shellie. I'm patting you on the back (love the dancing banana? icon). You should be very proud of yourself.

I smoked for 29 years. Very sad. Don't you wish you had all the money you've spent on cigarettes? We'd be rich!
Yes, but think of all you can save now that you have quit! A very wise
person told me two things: (1) Put aside all the money you would have spent on cigarettes. Then in a few weeks you have a pile of money to
do something special with - OR next summer you could take a really
great vacation! (2) if you haven't tried the patch or gum, maybe give it
a try. Some people have really great luck with them. Do follow the
directions though, they are important.

Be a quitter - give this wonderful gift of not smoking to yourself for
the Holidays! You can do this!
