Abby in labor
I think I am in for a long night! LOL I brought my blankets and pillows to lay beside her, though I don't think I'll sleep, I'm too worried I might miss something. I also have a wicked headache, so I guess it won't be lying when I call in "sick" in the mroning. LOL Just my luck, I'll stay up all night, call in sick, and she won't have them till Sunday or something....lol.... |

| First one is a boy, second pup, also red and white but with more white on it's mask and belly, I think is a girl, was born at 4:45am. I haven't had a close look at it yet, Abby is busy washing it....lol... she is doing a great job! |

| They are usuallyborn within 20 minutes to an hour of each other, and sounds like in this case they are pretty close together. Are we assuming she is done at three? Or did she kept spitting them out? Or there are complications? Do tell! Do tell! And of course we will then need pics : ) |

| *Yawn* Wow I am so tired...lol.... I slept on the futon for a couple hours after the kids were off to school and hubby was off to work. I forgot to call in to work, so I just called them now...lol...
Anyway, it appears Abby is done, she has 3 healthy pups, 2 boys 1 girl!
I've named the girl Sitka, and the boys Kenai and Koda after the movie Brother Bear characters. There are a few pics as each one was born in the gallery, and here is one I just took now.  |

Stacey, are husky puppies typically red? Or is the color a contribution from the father? |
| Huskies can be just about any color you can think of, and red and white is quite common. Now that they are dry though they are lighter and remind me more of the color of a golden retriever. |

They're maybe half husky, since although the mom looks purebred she may not be, and maybe half golden retriever perhaps lab in there too.....lol.... I think at least Kenai's ears will stand up, if not all three, but Kenai (the firstborn boy) definitely has a pointed ear shape. |
