Puppy - how much to feed?

I've had Zeke 1 week. He isn't eating all the food that I am putting out for him. I feed him 2 times a day, about 1 cup each time - IAMS puppy food. But he only eats half of it. He's peeing and pooping normally. He weighs 10 pounds. Am I overreacting???

How old is he? I feed Panda twice a day...3 cups total....she doesnt eat it all at once, but will finish it by bedtime..I wouldnt worry...he'll eat when he is hungry...just keep an eye out for different bathroom habits and change of behavior.....Im sure he is fine...he may not like the food..they do tend to be picky eaters...
When we brought Bosley home at 8 weeks old he weighed 14 pounds, and was skin and bones. He ate about 1 to 2 cups a day, which is twice as much as my 25 pound sheeties. They get 1/2 cup twice a day. He gradually started eating more and more, but remember that puppies get distracted easy, so he may be too busy to eat LOL. He will not starve himslef, so don't worry, and they also go through growth spurts so one week he may be ravonus, and the next week not. Activity level plays a part, and also the heat, and if their teeth are sore etc. Give him as much as he wants, but structured, say 3 times a day, at the same time every day. It will help with his house-training, as his bowels will get into a routine that you can follow. At 6 months he is now eating 5/6 cups a day. Good luck!
At 10 poinds, I take it that he is pretty young. His tummy is not very big yet. You might try smaller amouonts three times a day. This worked well with Mojo. At about four months we started making the lunch smaller and breakfast and dinner more. Now he only eats twice a day.
I had the same problem with Dancer when she was a pup, I tried everything... the only thing that seemed to entice her to eat more was some smelly canned catfood on top of her kibble.
Are you still moistening Zeke's food? He may not be able to chew it, try it really mushy, and try leaving dry kible out for him as well so that he will learn to nibble at it. That is what worked for me... Dancer ended up being extremely small, I think her growth was stunted by her lack of appetite.
He is 9 weeks tomorrow. He doesn't seem to have trouble chewing the bits, but maybe he gets tired?? I'll moisten it down a bit and see what happens.
