My name is Marc and I am newly married to Jessica. Four days ago we bacame the pround parents of a bouncing baby oes named Cali. Now I have to admit, Jessica is the animal lover in the house. She thinks Noah did not have enough animals on the ark. That should give you an indication of how much she loves them. Me, not so much. I'm not an animal hater so much as I have always tolerated them more then actively pursue relationships with them. We do have two cats as well name Dusty and Poppy and they're great. They are not overly demanding but they like attention. My kind of animal. I have been promising Jessica a dog for quite some time. But it was important to us both that it was a breed that we both like. It had to be one that was family oriented, gentle, larger in size and intelligent. I have a thing against dumb dogs (I'm really not as mean as I sound). So after about 4 or 5 months of looking and researching, we decided that the oes was the right breed. In fact - it seemed perfect. And we are not disappointed. Cali is everything we were hoping for. Smart, quick to learn and a wonderful personality. She has a stubborn streak but I don't mind that at all. We've been having a ball with her. Brought her to work the first days - and as you'd imagine she was a big hit. The last two days have been a bit rough for all of us though as we have had to leave her home in the crate. But she's been so good. Even after our 12 hour day yesterday, she was able to control herself til we got home. Unbelievable how quickly she's learning. She's even learning not to bite people on the shoes already. Anwyay, enough rambling. Here's a picture. Both Jess and I will be visiting the forum often. You all seem like a great group of people and reading some of your stories and seeing pictures has both made us laugh and brought tears to our eyes. We look forward to getting to know you all. |

Hey Marc ( & Jess)
Welcome, and Great photo! I love those cute little puppy paws, and the pink on the nose! Thanks for joining. |
I was beginning to think there were only 2 of us at the forum with "masked" OES.
Welcome aboard. Cali is adorable. Reminds me of Abbi's puppy pictures. I am going to go find them and post them to her site one of these days. I know what you mean about laughing and crying. Yours brought a smile to this tired face! Moving across country soon too? Hopefully when the weather is a bit more stable. Cali will love Wisconsin I would think. Cooler weather, I presume. Although dogs seem to love where ever their owners might go. From Argentina to Texas and then some, Abbi never complained. |
