I don't have a favorate but go to the food network, it has tons of good ones
hope this helps, Tyler Florence has some good ones and Rachel Ray, Emerald, Sara Moulton also :lo also google just type in meatloaf |
Brian actually makes a mean meatloaf....he doesnt "know" what goes in it...there is g.b. ground pork and veal.....he says he just adds "junk" out of the cupboard....lol |
Watch him some day - I need to know what the "junk" is! LOL! |
I use ground beef, crackers, eggs, onions, salt, pepper, worchestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, italian salad dressing, a package of onion soup mix, and half a can of coke or pepsi. Toss all into a bowl, mix it all with your hands until you either feel sick or your hands are numb and frozen, shape it into whatever, throw it in the oven til it's done. LOL
I don't measure anything. |
I'm not a big measure-er either. Why the Coke or Pepsi? You have me intrigued... |
I have no idea why the coke or pepsi.... it was my mom's idea... lol... but it does add something... just a nicer flavor. She probably spilled some in one night and decided she liked it, who knows. LOL She has made it that way for all of my 30 years.
You can make homemade bbq sauce by mixing coke, ketchup, a bit of vinegar and sugar too. It's awesome. |
I've never heard of Coke/Pepsi in a meatloaf either. Sounds interesting! |
Here is my own recipe for meatloaf. I never liked meat loaf until I came up with this one. It is not low fat, but it is yummy...
The Best Meatloaf makes two meat loafs 3 lbs Ground Beef, lean 1 lbs Ground Sweet Italian Sausage 3 eggs 1 cup Corn Flakes crushed or bread crumbs 1 tsp salt 1 tsp pepper 1 tsp basil 1 tsp oregano 1 tsp thyme 1 onion chopped 1 bell pepper chopped Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients into a large mixing bowl, use your hands to make sure all ingredients are well combined. Prepare two baking dishes with cooking spray. Form meat mixture into 2 large loafs. Cook for 1 hour and fifteen minutes, check for doneness, if you need cook for another 15 minutes. Remove meat loafs to platter and discard fat. |
Anybody have a turkey meatloaf recipe? I realize you could substitute but sometimes things get weird. |
