I have been an owner of cats for many years, not having much use for dogs in general. But THIS dog.... well he is heaven sent! He was a stray that my sister rescued literally out of the middle of the street a few weeks ago. The vet says she thinks he is at least half OES. He is 18 months old but only weighs 40 pounds now that he has filled out to a healthy weight. He sure looks a lot like a sheepie, but that weight is way too low. I uploaded photos of him in the "first portraits" album, but they aren't on as of yet. I assume they will be on the last page later? You can see from his tail how long his fur really is. He is mostly white and has about 15 black spots on his back. His feet are huge! My daughter and I could not agree on a name (she wanted Kirby and I wanted Willoughby), so we came up with a list and each narrowed it down to a few faves. The two names on the lists that we had in common were Toby and Shiloh, so that's what we named him. We call him Toby. I noticed there was another Toby on the board (Toby the destroyer!) so I'll call him Toby Shiloh here. He is the most wonderfully sweet dog. Never barks unless someone is at the door. Loves everybody. Has tried to make friends with my two cats, though they are not interested. Is housebroken (yea!). Sleeps late (double yea!). He is a gentle, sweet velcro doggie. At first he jumped over our 4-foot fence at the blink of an eye, but he has pretty much stop ped doing that now. We don't let him out alone. |
