A magicians convention cruise from Vancouver to LA
Arrangements were made a year ago to attend a cruise from Vancouver to LA...it's a magicians convention aboard ship. I was looking forward to it until the days are coming up fast. Now I'm in a complete state of panic. Sigh what to do with Merlin, Panda and Blue..let alone the four cats and Rabbit and Guinea pig. Who should sleep with who? Merlin and Blue play well together and Panda is never allowed to join. Brother in law said he could house Blue which would only mean letting Merlin and Panda share a space at the kennel. Then there's the cost...over 444 dollars to have the three dogs at a kennel for a week. Egads!! Plus another 200 to make sure they are all up to date on their shots...as theirs expired only last month. My friend from the dog park had told me long ago she had planned to do it for me..staying at my house which is the best situation by far. However she has since moved and I was panicking unable to get hold of her until she finally called me yesterday. She had wanted to have her new boyfriend there as well which I'm not comfortable with as I don't know him and felt then her attention wouldn't be on the dogs. (I feel kinda quilty about this) but knew I couldn't relax knowing some stranger was at my home. I think it was her mentioning that he had been at a halfway house that set alarm bells off in my head. So there's my ramble..plus on top of all this stress and starting a new job last week and being in a bit of financial difficulty as I didn't work all summer..I haven't smoked for 2 wks despite all this stress. I think when I finally step aboard that ship ..I'm gonna be so relieved. PS may even get married by the ships captain if all goes well..

| Good for you Marianne! It's great that you're staying away from the cigarettes with all this stress. You deserve a cruise!
I can't blame you about the boyfriend... I would have a hard time relaxing with a complete stranger in my house caring for my puppy. He may be well over whatever resulted in the halfway house stay but since you don't know him it's hard to feel comfortable. I sure hope you can work it all out so that your pets are safe and happy for a reasonable price! Sue |
Oh my, Marianne! I hope one of the countless people you have helped steps up to the plate here! Everything does have a habit of working out but it's terrible you have to go thru all this stress to get there! 
Congrats on not smoking for 2 whole weeks...that's amazing! 
And, you MIGHT get married on the ship? That's VERY exciting!

Long time no see! What's your new job? Still working in a school or something totally different? And what's with this getting married? Swinging single not doing it for you anymore?
Send Merlin and Panda down here to PA. Not the cats though, they're on their own! Hopefully you can find someone responsible but who has no home of their own to come and sit for you. Any colleges nearby? Maybe some lonely honor's student could do it for you? Better yet, any veterinary students at your vet's office that would do it? You never know. Let us know what you work out, eh? |

I do hope you can work out the pet sitting situation so that you're comfortable with it. I know you'll never relax on your vacation if you're worried about your babies. Married at sea...it sounds so romantic!! |
