It has come to my attention that emails originating from OES.ORG are not reaching people with aol.com email addresses. The problem is with AOL's SPAM filtering policies and the way that the OES.ORG website is hosted. The Technical: OES.ORG resides on a "shared server": That is, on the same computer there are many other websites, each with their own identity and their own "IP Address". Our email POP server has only 1 IP Address, and sends all mail from all the different websites from that same IP Address. When AOL detects, or believes that it has detected SPAM coming from that IP address, that address gets banned from AOL, affecting all emails from all sites on this machine (and that's more than 300). The Practical: If you are an AOL customer, you probably haven't gotten anything from OES.ORG in the email in a long time. My webserver host is working through the bureaucracy that is AOL to resolve the problem. I'll try to let everyone know when it's fixed. In the meantime, if you'd like to help by sending a note to AOL Customer Service politely asking them to unblock emails coming from oes.org from machines neon.nocdirect.com and mercury.nocdirect.com , that may help. Thanks! Ron. UPDATE: AOL Members now seem to be getting oes.org mail. Thanks! |

I have all my mail sent to Yahoo as I am switching providers every 6 months it seems. All of my OES.org mail was going to the BULK mail pile. I get over 100 junk mails a day, so I wasn't looking there. One day I only had 20 or so and thought I might check -- and there were all the e-mails telling me someone had responded to my posts.
I marked all of them as not SPAM, as per Yahoo's directions, but to no avail. I still find all of the OES posts in the Bulk mail box. Thanks for explaining the problem. I will try to get Yahoo to see what they can do to fix the problem more directly next time. Good Luck getting this fixed! |
