We got back from Lake Charles LA. late last night....... I am so glad that we are able to go and see first hand what is going on adn being done on the ground. I just couldn't set back and watch the TV coverage..... WE SAW THE WORST AND THE BEST IN HUMANITY....... It wa worse then what Diana at the Calcasieu Parish Animal Shelter was telling me..... THey had orgianlly 2,200 people at the Civic Cener and 47 dogs and cats.....They now over 450 dogs and cats, birds, guinea pigs,,,,,,, I got to visit with some Red Cross Volunteers that are working the people in the Civic Center....Although they are having a really hard time those Poor People will be hleped......I am concerned about all the Babies....... I saw Hopelessness, Sadness, Bitterness.....But I also saw, Thankfulness, Compassion adn Love.......... Those animal shleter folks are working 14 hours shifts.......There are 2 people at the Civic Center with those Babies 24 hours a day......They are doing everything they can to help them...........I am sure this is the story of everyone of these shelters helping those Poor People from New Orleans and all the Babies............I wish I could have stayed longer and helped more....... But, it there are no motel rooms and is a dangerous situation.....Cops everywhere.......I felt fear for the first time in I can't remember when...... Plus I left 15 Babies at home that need to be taken care of........... So it was A Blessing to be able to go and Hug These People that are doing everything they can for the People and THe Babies.......Sheepie Hugs, Kaye |
