How to get a dog wet faster than in the shower?

I keep trying to figure out how I can give Momo a bath without taking a small eternity to do it (and without scareing her). Her undercoat even when short is really hard to get soaked through and she gets so impatient that I can't spend a lot of time actually CLEANING her.

Is there a hose or something I can attach to the bathtub to give her a bath? Maybe a different solution?

(Might not respond very quickly due to no net at the house)

Fairly cheap you can buy a showerhead that has the hose attachment. I love the one I have and it was cheap.
Here is a picture that shows a few models

Certainly, you can change the showerhead to a hand held shower head. It will be on a flexible hose that is almost, but never quite long enough to wash a dog.

Some brands that come to mind are "The Shower Massage" and "Water Pik" but there are many many ones like that. When not bneing hand held, they snap into a holder up near the rigid pipe.

When I was a kid (you know, when the dinosaurs were around) you could get a hose specifically designed to attach to the bath spigot. It had a wide funnel shaped connector on one end, and a shower head on the other, but modern tub spigots aren't the right shape nowdays, they are not round. I don't know if those bath hoses are still available at all if you happen to have an older tub spigot.

Drop by your local Home Depot or Lowes and ask in the plumbing department... if the "guy" doesn't seem sure of him/her self, find someone who really knows their stock.

Good luck! Let us know!
Integra,
The last place we bathed Barney was with the hose in teh backyard. I know this isn't very practical for the winter, but I figured you still have a while down there in SC.
We've also used pitchers before. While the dog is in the tub, just fill up a pitcher and pour
I found a longer hose at HD or Lowe's or somewhere. It's 6' or something like that.
We use the hose in the backyard too. Works really well!
I'll try to find something at home depot.

I don't like bathing my pets with a garden hose hehe. It just seems too weird - and cold. *brrr* That - and there's nothing but mud everywhere. :P
Well, the hose-bath has actually only happened once, and it was impromptu. Barney was peeing on the grass (which husband does not like) and he happened to be watering the grass at the same time, so he started hosing off Barney, trying to get him to move to a new location. Barney just stood there peeing, and getting wetter by the second. (it worked really well!)
So, at that point we just decided to get out the shampoo and make it official. Since it was about 95 that day, I don't think anyone minded the cold hose water! 8)
JB Pet has a hose/shower attachment that is 8' long - $24.95 Item # 222-0100. www.jbpet.com
When you live in AZ your garden hose water never gets really cold. And we have a big patio so we don't have the mud problem. We've never bathed him inside but I assume there would be a lot of wet walls if we did
You can buy an attachment at Walmart that you can attach and unattach a hose with sprayer from it. I finally got one and its helps tremendously. You can keep you regular shower head too. It cost about $15.00. Its really great!
We have a separate shower/tub. We went to petsmart and we have an attachment that will fit our tub nozzle, it works great for a long time, but after a several months of use, it finally stretches too much and will pop off. We also have one that is for the shower, and it has an extra long hose, so you can just lay it down and it has a button on the side to stop the water from flowing when the button isn't pushed. It keeps you from getting even wetter...LOL
Also if you heat the towels up, after a bath, it drys them quicker. I have only given Jack a bath outside once, and even in the summer it just seemed too cold, so him and Annie both have been pampered with warm water and a heated bathroom.

Stormi and co.
I found this on the Petsco website instead of Petsmart, but I think this is one of the ones we have for our shower.

Here is one that hooks up to a washer machine, so you can bathe your pet outdoors with warm water.

If you already have a hose as shown in the picture, just go to the Salvation Army used store, garage sale or secong hand store and buy another one. Unscrew the shower head on your own shower hose, buy a little piece (about 2 inches long and 1/2 inch in diameter) at Home Depot for about a dollar called a "nipple", screw the end of each hose on this piece and now you have a very long use to wash your little angels in the tub and only cost you a few bucks.

Good luck.

The best thing to do if all else fails is get a big jug fill it with water and shampoo mix and wet her coat with the mixture to you can massage the water through her coat and wash her at the same time . It alwas worked for me. Hope this helps . good luck.
