Can someone help. Thanks, Deana |

I think 4 cups a day should be plenty for a growing puppy. My vet advised me to "free feed" while Beau is young. So, he pretty much has had food available all the time. Still, he only ever ate about 4 cups per day - sometimes less. Now that he's a little older (9 mos), I've noticed that he'll eat as much as I give him, so I've cut down some and only allow him to have 4 cups per day. He's at a healthy weight for his size and gets plenty of excercise, so I think he's doing okay.
You do want to be careful with her weight especially if she has a health condition. I may have missed that post. Did you talk about her heart condition somewhere? |
The day I joined. She has a bad heart. It will kill her. She is on meds for it.
She can not have an operation. It would kill her. We cannot have her fixed for this reason. Her heart is beating much faster than normal. So that keeps her burning her food at a higher pace. Thanks, Deana |
Oh dear! I'll find that post and re-read. |
Hi Deana,
I know about sheepies with heart problems, our (by our, I mean the forum's ) sweet Belle suffered from dilated cardiomyopathy. Feel free to PM me if you ever need to vent about it. Jil |
