The uprights thought he was a dog named Daisy. So, we'll have to keep an eye out for another sheepie there. When I took him home he flopped down on the kitchen floor and sleep all night until 7:30 a.m. |

Congratulations!! How fun for him (& restful for you!). They have so much fun they wear themselves out! |
Cool! so it sounds like he may have a playmate next time he goes ! |
Thanks, we can only hope that there will be another sheepie there. What's up with all the lab's? |
Yay Beau! Glad he had a good time. I love the dog park! Bailey always sleeps like a log after we come home too. I hear tales of a sheepie named Norman at my dog park. Never have seen him though. Maybe he's hibernating for the summer. |
Which dog park did you go to Karen?
People love those Labs. We have quite a few Labradoodles and Goldendoodles at our park too. I don't know. A dog's just not a dog to me unless it's huge and fluffy! |
Yay Beau! I was so happy the first time Gucci was able to run free! If only I could find a secure, fenced place with OTHER dogs! There's never anyone at the school yard!

Hi Jill,
We went to Clinton Township dog park. I registered Beau yesterday morning after a lady at Petsmart told me about it last weekend. It's $20.00 for non residents (which I am, since I live in Sterling Heights) You'd think as big as Sterling Heights is that they would have a dog park The dog park is on Canal and Romeo Plank, behind the library. It's very nice. Green grass and water fountains for the uprights and dogs. Benches to sit on. You should have seen Beau, he didn't know who to play with first. |
Well, today was our second time at the dog park. A man came in with a golden retreiver and a brown lab and Beau came up to the man and he was petting Beau when his golden retreiver attack Beau. The golden was only a year old and the man had to pick him up or he would have had Beau for breakfast
Beau got a little nip on the top of his nose, other than that he's OK. The man took his two dogs to the other side for agressive dogs. It's hard to believe, that a golden retreiver would be so agressive. My sister has one, and he is so friendly. |
Hi Karen and Beau-
I'm just back online after some computer problems. I hope Beau is recovered from his mishap at the park and it doesn't scare him away. That park is supposed to be very nice, I live nearby but have never been there. How odd there would be another OES named Daisy in that area. Maybe you'll run into her and Beau will have a new friend. |
Hi Holly,
You should bring the gang to the park. The nip on the nose has healed and it didn't bother Beau one bit. We now have been there 3 times. Beau just loves running after all the dogs. Some of them are pretty fast. When Beau lays down I know it's time to go. |
Karen,
We went to the dog park in Mount Clemens last night- it's across from the jail, right by the community center. It was free and pretty fun too. There's a lot of big evergreen trees that the the dogs seemed to like to hide from each in and around (needle free fun though, the trees are trimmed). If you're ever interested in meeting up, let me know. My mom works at Lakeside so it's right on her way home to meet me there so I have an incentive to drive out there. I don't get to see my mom too often these days! |
OK Jil, sounds like fun! Let me know when it's a good time. |
Karen,
I am glad to hear Beau was well behaved at the dog park, also glad the nip on his nose did not affect him. We have a wonderful one here in Palm Springs. Now that the mornings have cooled off a bit it's time to start going back there. Pepsi loves it and the best part is that it wears him out Elissa |
Elissa,
I agree. It is really a good way to wear them out. Beau really loves to chase all the dogs around. Too bad that Otis didn't bite Beau other than his nose, he would have gotten a mouth full of hair! |
