Frustaded ... and New, Me and Blue

I have been a member for like 3 days now, but haven't said hello, because like all new parents I wanted the pic there, like all you guys,UGH!
However, it seems no matter how hard I try, I just can't do an advitar, grrrrrrrrrrrr! Anyway, believe me she is just beautiful with a personality to match. I have breed and showed Samoyeds in conformation for fifteen years. Due to a health failure, "mine" most of my kennel was shut down, one (love of my life bitch left), out of the hospital and a breeding commenced,YEAH! Five days after the planned c-section, IV's and atibiotics at home, and she was gone. Two pups one for me the other for the studs mom. The one I kept, was just plain mean (?????) Now maybe it was me having so many loses so close together, I surely don't know!
So, I analized, resurched, and deliberated, because the breed I now need, needs to be a service dog as well as my best friend, and so I chose between a Anatolian Shepard and this NUT," that now shares my life in the biggest of ways! A her tender age of 10 weeks, and one week with me, she has captivated me!!! Anyway, we say hello, so far you not only have been very helpful, you have been extremly enjoyable as she!
What do you think, will a oes be a good choice for service dog or did I make a bad mistake in choice? Either way I'm affraid she has my heart, :Oh Oh, :roll, me over, in the clover ... la la la.

Welcome Jennie! I'm sorry to hear about all your losses, that's so hard. But glad to hear about the new love of your life! They do really get into your heart - don't they! I don't know much about service dogs, but I know these guys are super companions and just love to be around us. Good luck with your new little pup and can't wait to see pictures. I had a really tough time getting my avatar up also.

Hi Jennie! It took me a long time to get my avatar up...keep trying..and welcome!
Welcome to the forum :)
The main thing you need to do is use whatever photo editing program you have to shrink the picture you want to use to 150x150 pixels or less, and less than 12 kb file size.
Then give it another try
The simplest way is to upload the photo that you want as an avatar full size into the photo gallery. The photo gallery will automatically produce a thumnail of the right dimensions.

After the photo is approved (can be anywhere from near instantaneous, to a few hours, depending on whether I'm online),all you have to do is find that thumnail, right click on it, choose "properties", TRIPLE click on the "Address (URL)" line, and press control-C to copy it into your clipboard.

Then go to your profile page (the link is on the second row of links at the top of every page) scroll down to "Upload avatar from URL". Click inside that box to get your cursor in there, then press Control-V to copy from your clipboard to the box.

Click on "Submit" and you should be all set.

Good luck, and Welcome!
Trust me, what Ron just wrote is not a strange language. Before I could get mine up I had to print out the instructions and go one step at a time. Otherwise it was all alien. Keep trying.
 I still haven't managed this! Have just printed the latest instructions and when I have a new photo will try again! Willoughby keeps growing! Lynda :)
Added the very important point that you have to wait until the photo is approved.
Welcome Jennie.
I know there are several members who have trained their dogs as therepy dogs. We are working with Mojo to become a companion dog for our son. Would like to hear myself if someone has a service sheepdog.
Hi Ya Yager,
I have been working with Blue now , as a service dog, for only about five maybe six weeks. She is awsome, ungodly smart, and calm, when she is dressed in her work cloths! Believe me she knows the difference. She has already alearted to a seizer, and props herself strongly at my side should I fall, for me to lean on to pull myself up. Of course I only put a little weight on her.
What is a NUT and hyper and chewing on me and everything else, out of uniform, is one hundred per cent different at work. She has been everywhere from the grocery to elavators in the tallest buildings, and has laid quiltly by my side for hours, and all of this has pretty much just come to her, without allot of training. Also her retriving skills are awsome!!!!
