valerie wrote: This is encouraging -- for the first time in months, the number of sheepdogs available on petfinder.com is under 30!! 28 last I checked and one of those was adopted (adorable panda). So many breeds have hundreds of dogs available. We should be very happy to have such low numbers. I hope it lasts! Hooray for all the happy homes! Now, if we could just find 28 more people. . .
That is great, but there is always http://www.puppysites.com That is where we found our kids. In fairness to them, they did remove our "breeder's" ads and link from their site after telling the story of our dogs. Maybe if everyone tells them about bad breeders, it will eventually be a good place to find a dog. Our "breeder" just had eleven more puppies, so beware in the Baltimore area. Eric |
Don't forget to look under "Sheep Dog" too. There's more there too. |
I got one yesterday! She is mix, but she sure does look mostly OES. maybe golden retrievers have alot of recessive traits. |
hooray!! tell us about her! |
Her mom was a Golden, her father a OES. She is mostly black with white splotches on chest, legs, and on the left side of her snout. She is shaped just like an OES and boy is she big! At 12 weeks she is almost as large as my Sheltie. Cute and friendly. Constantly under our feet. She has been playing well with the other dogs though she doesn't really realize her own strength. Suprisingly, she slept all night in her crate without a peep! We will see how the next few weeks go... |
