Crock pots and sheepies

Has anyone had any problems cooking with a crock pot and having a lurking sheepie? Since it is (hopefully, please!) going to get cooler soon, I want to make soups and stuff in the crock pot and leave them and have them ready for dinner. But Barney lives in the kitchen during the day. Will this be a recipe for disaster :?: (I know, REALLY bad joke there)

I'd put it in the bathroom and lock it in-- the crock pot I mean, not Barney! better safe than sorry!
I've left my crockpot going with a roast in it and the dogs have not bothered with it. I did put them in their crates when we went out to go swimming though....
I haven't had any problems with any dinner thefts from the crockpot, that I know of. Hadn't really thought of it until now. Maybe they're getting into it while we're gone and then just putting the lid back on. Ewwwwww! I'll never be able to leave the crock pot alone with the dogs again! DOH!

I would think that as long as you push it back into a corner and tuck the cord behind it, you should be fine.

P.S. Recipe for disaster. Hah hah hah hah!!!
Ive never had a problem...but my base get really warm.
Speaking of crock pots, I just burned my first dinner last week.....I felt like beef stroganoff....I used a beef tenderloin, cut up...onions, and seasoning..I put it in the crock pot and went to work.....Brian was home that day..I get home a little after 5..I walk into the house and smell burnt meat...I rush to the crock pot and it was burnt and glued to the bottom...I asked Brian if he checked it....he said "NO"...I asked him if he was even a little bit curious what was cooking and again he replied "NO"...then I asked him if he could SMELL the burnt meat...he said it smelled fine...better than the stations food......then of all the nerve....he called me Betty (Crocker) for the rest of the night......all that meat wasted...he just needed to add some more water.....he said it was my fault that I didnt leave him a note.........
MEN!!!!!!!
My hubby would have just eaten it... before I got home!
Although I've never had a dog try to get in a crockpot I make all my ice cream in the laundry room. They must love the smell of cream

We did have a candy stealer, Flash, our first OES. I filled a candy dish with peanut M&M's one Christmas and put in on the coffee table. We came back from shopping, my husband reached in the dish and it was empty. Flash ate 1 full pound, licked the dish clean and pushed the lid back in place. We knew it was him because his beard was red and green :D He never even got sick.
Darcy, you're probably lucky that he didn't smell it burning, grab a fire extinguisher and douse your kitchen in foam! You know those fire guys, always ready to save a foundation.
Darcy,
Brian sounds like Billy. Billy always needs a NOTE! lol Or whatever I ask will not get done.
But I can't really complain about him today.
He is making Turkey Tamales from scratch.
He deep fried the Turkey then started from there.
Very impressive :D :D
I can't wait to eat them... YUMMM
I've never cooked with a crock pot...
I would love to try though.
