At the hotel, he slept by the door the entire time. If someone walked past & he heard them, he'd bark and do a low growl. Then, he would come over to me, lick my hand/arm, and go back to the door and lay down. He did that ALL night long. It was just me & the boys, so I guess he was protecting us. If someone had come in on us, he'd probably would have just licked them to death though. My husband had a little more eventful trip back home. On the way to Hawaii from Guam, one of the flaps messed up. It could cause a crash during landing - and their air to ground communicator (forget what he called it) also messed up! Jason said that never happens so it was a pretty scary landing for them. Luckily, they made it with no problems. It took 2 days to fix the plane, so he was just in Hawaii a little longer than he thought (poor thing - lol). He took a ton of pics, so I'll probably share a shutterfly link to mine and his both soon. I'm waiting on his underwater pics to get developed so I can add them too. He had fun, but I think he was more than ready to get back home to us. He gets so homesick now. |

Gail, Glad your back safe and sound.....good boy for protecting mommy and the kids!!!!! Cant wait to see pictures....we dont go to Hawaii until this April.....sigh...... |
Welcome back, Gail! You sure are brave for taking both boys and Jasper that far away!
I had to chuckle about the Children's Tylenol Cold. Used to use that trick on my own kids! The pictures sound awesome! Can't wait to see them! Chris |
Gail,
I think Ryan is too old for that to knock him out. I remember when he was a baby there was a woman in front of us with three kids and she turned to me and asked if I had Dimetapp. I said no. She asked if I wanted to give Ryan some, so told me it would knock him out. So I said YES!!! He sleep three quarters of the flight. It was wonderful. Every trip after that while he got some Dimetapp Now that he is older and really doesn't have any problems on the plane I give him Triaminic Decongestant Strips. Hopefully his Dad will remember to give it to him on this trip home. This will be Ryan's 4th flight alone. I am so proud of him...but nervous too Elissa |
Aw, better living through chemistry, got to love it.
Welcome back! Why does it seem that when the husband's trip gets sidetracked, it's in Hawaii but if the wife's trip is screwy it's somewhere desolate and lacking sunshine? P.S. Might be time to move up to Benadryl for it's sleep inducing qualities. |
