Back to School again.......

I can already feel it in the air, at the stores, where the parents are busy in the aisles getting all the same school supplies they fought for the year before. School is exactly 2 weeks away for our kids. Luckily, they are excited!! Ashlan is going into 2nd grade and Joey is going into AM Kindergarten. Thank goodness the school board changed their mind about having full day kindergarten, and let the kids stay home a little longer before sending them to school for a full day. I am sure Joey is prepared for being at school for a full day, but Mom is not.
We are out of town this weekend for a last WOO-HOO, before the summer is over. What better way than to go see The Wiggles in concert and stay with a friend all at the same time. This will be Ashlan and Joey's 2nd concert, but the first for their 3 friends.
Then we are devoting the next weekend to getting all the school clothes, that we should have already bought. We have been busy helping my parents move into my Grandma's house, with her.
Annabelle and Jack have enjoyed their summer shave, it has been fun for them, and you wouldn't believe the freedom that comes with not grooming 2 full coated sheepies. They can both catch a ball in the air now.....they can SEE it...LOL They also learned that the kids can play soccer by themselves with no sheepie help, it took a little practice and a few treats along the way, but now Jack and Annie can be sidelined at times instead of interfering with the soccer ball all the time. Oh, and Annie turned 2 in July, along with one of our cats, O'Malley turned 5.
We spent some of our summer raising 5 kittens, and they all went to wonderful homes 2 weeks ago. It was sad to see them go. The kids each had a favorite, as did I, but we parted with all 5. They were named Perciville (Percy), Achilles, Sam, Malachi, and Gracie. I think they will stay spoiled.
Well, I think that wraps up what we have done ths summer and what is coming up.
I do think summer is so much shorter than it used to be!! :? How did that work?
Hope everyone had/ or is having a great summer still!!

Good to hear from you Stormi :)
Wow, my kids don't go back until September 6th. However, I think yours were done a month earlier too....
You must be "wiggling" with excitement over the upcoming concert  ...lol....
Will you be able to take any pics?
Are your kids looking forward to going back to school? Mine are, they're bored since most days it has been too hot to do much.
A belated happy birthday to Annabelle and O'Malley.
My big orange lug of a cat turns six this month too. Winston is on "diet" food now and yells at me every night to refill his bowl.... again....lol... Church turns a year old on August 12th, so I felt it wouldn't hurt her at this age to have to eat Winston's light formula.... she's a little chubby too anyway, but Winston really needs to slim down a bit now that he is getting a bit older and less active.
As for summer being shorter... I have mixed feelings about this one, on one hand it seems to be going by too fast, and on the other snow can't come soon enough for me! LOL
I think we need to see some new pics of Jack and Annie in their new do! :)
I was watching a "back to school" commercial on TV last night thinking how sad it was that I have no "youngun's" heading back to school  I remember the good old days of rushing out to buy new sneakers and pencils, it was such fun. Well, maybe it didn't seem like fun then but in retrospect it does!!! Enjoy!
I hate back to school but not for any reasons anyone else does. I work at a university and all summer long I get used to a nice, leisurely commute-- well, maybe leisurely is exaggerating but now I'm going to have to leave at least 20 minutes earlier and fight for a parking spot. There's nothing better than summer here...
Has anyone seen the KFC commercial, where a girl is walking down the street, points, then screams her head off? Next frame is a red leaf on the sidewalk! That's how I feel every fall! I cannot believe it is August already!

But, you are right Stacy, I do miss the snow a tiny bit! Especially the part where you can take the dog for a long walk, he is still clean and you didn't have to battle the insects to do it! :D

Summer is already over for me......sigh  I work at an elementary school and went back to work on Monday. Today we started enrollment and it was total chaos all day long. I enrolled about 100 kids. Tonight: I feel a margarita fest coming on!

Was she scared of Canada? ;)
heheheheheheheheheh
Colleen, I love that commercial... lol..... I used to be one of those people, would stay in denial about winter coming until well after xmas...lol... but THIS year... BRING IT ON! LOL
I have two going to school, and I am learning it's impossible to buy supplies...Wal-Mart already out of stuff.

And the stuff they need for grade one...do they really go through 4 erasers?? And why specific water paint...still can't find it. (Prang watercolor paint)

Next year I will buy the predone school pkgs through the school...it's cheaper too...so I am learning.

I am excited for them to be back tho, and morning to myself...I have big plans....coffee, Ellen show, maybe Regis, another coffee...=D

Actually I am gonna start walking the dog everyday, or alternate and go to the gym, start using that membership.
Aren't we all scared of Canada, eh?
LOL! Scared of Canada! Isn't that like being scared of Sweden or something?

Try Dick Blick http://www.dickblick.com/zz003/50/ I think those are the watercolors you are looking for. :) If you don't like ordering online, perhaps you might have a store nearby. They are my number one favorite art supply store.

Thanks so much for the link, this helps greatly. I will look at some art stores here...I just assumed ifit was for school, and 60 parents need them they'd be available everywhere. They also say not to choose something else if they are product specific.

For the others ... you should be scared of Canada ... muawahaha  ... I'm scared of Okra too.
My son has been away for the summer. He will be back August 23rd... Then back to school on August 30th. Then surgery on Sept 2nd.
Oh the drama ahead
Luckily my son's school require uniforms...well not so much uniforms but set color. Then can wear white or blue shirts, with blue or khaki pants or shorts. Pretty easy with that.
Public schools started on Wednesday due to the FCAT tests. My son goes to a private school and will start on the 17th. Way too early for school to start. It is still in the upper 90's here. I don't know how they manage PE now.
from me Sandy Sheepie (forgot to log in again)
Started to ask whose surgery, then I remembered, Tags. I wish you lived closer...he is such a beautiful pup.....................
