Tyler Smith writing. I know my Nanny and Grandad Lindon (Michele and Carl) have told you about me and even put my photos on this forum so I thought that I would let you know about my great adventures this past weekend. Mommy and Daddy, Doug and Linda Smith, went to the Prince George show and decided that it was time for me to get out and see a bit of the world. (Well yeah mom and dad! You’d think that being one month old is a liability or something they way they protect and watch over me!! ) Anyway Mom and Dad did all the usual things that they do for shows and got the van and trailer ready to go. Then they loaded everything up including some of my big cousins and aunts. Aunt Barbie was supposed to be the star of the show this weekend so she was so super pretty – for an older woman anyway. Then it was time for me to get in the van. That had me worried at first. Dad put a cooler in between the two front seats and puts me in it!! Humph I’m thinking. Next he takes a travel cup, you know one of the ones you plug into the power outlet and then he puts water in it and turns it on. So I’m sitting in the cooler thinking Dad, Dad, you are not allowed to keep me cool and fresh until you decide to par boil me for lunch!! No way, Daddy Virgil will have your head if you even think of that – Where’s my Daddy Virgil before two footer Dad does something bad!!! Then Dad did something that made it all better and I calmed down – he took a bottle of my milk and put it in the warm water. So that was the deal, the cooler kept me safe and the heated cup kept my milk warm!! All right this travel deal started out a bit worrisome but now I’m liking it!! Hah hah. Every time we stopped Dad or Mom would feed me some milk. Yepper I always knew I was special, just one of the things that are bred into me!! After a while though the traveling was pretty boring. It went on and on and on – Dad said something about 12 hours!! We went up hills and down hills and between hills and under hills and by rivers and lakes (don’t quite know the difference yet) but I do know that my Uncle Martin would love them because they have lots and lots of WATER in them!! To bad he couldn’t come but he has to live with Daddy Virgil and Nanny and Granddad Lindon. Well we finally got to the dog show! It was very exciting to see all the other dogs there but they said because I was so small I couldn’t compete and that I would have to stay in our area and just watch. I know they are just scared that I would beat them so they are making up rules to try and keep me out! Humph to them! Aunt Barbie did super well and took all kinds of ribbons and was just full of herself. Dad said that is just fine because she made the weekend like winning the 649 lottery. Ok, I guess that is a good thing from how they were all behaving and celebrating. Well I need in on this celebration stuff as well so I decided that I would become a big dog over the weekend and I DID!! Now I can bounce and run around with anyone and I decided it is time to get off this milk stuff and start eating real food – well ok I still like the milk but I’m eating pablum (crushed kibble and milk) and small bits of kibble as well now. After the weekend we did the long ride back home and that’s when I had the biggest surprise. Tara had had a bunch of puppies, they are my brothers and sisters. All of a sudden I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers. But I think that there is something wrong with them , or maybe they are just bad because they have long handles on the end of their butts so Tara and Mom and Dad could easily catch hold of them. Hah, I’m smarter than them – just like I should be as Virgil’s firstborn, Daddy V told me to say that – I got rid of my long handle so I can bounce away and keep playing with no concern about being caught. Huh… I’m still pooped out. It was a busy weekend and even just telling you all about it is tiring. Time to go and rest so I can do all the big brother stuff I have to do later today. Anyway I’ll write once in a while – when my busy schedule allows it – and keep you updated on my brothers and sisters but most of all MY adventures. Love Tyler Smith. |
