Now at a year old we have conformation that his tri cuspid valve is deformed and his pulmonary valve is not working properly. The vet specialist is suggesting that a valve balloon valvuloplasty be performed on the pulmonary valve. It is hoped that it would take pressure off of the tri cuspid . The right side of his heart is quite enlarged. Has anyone had experience with this type of procedure or any heart procedures? Thanks, Lorraine |

I don't, but my heart goes out to you. You have to trust your vet. If You don't, get a second opinion! Hope it goes well! |
I'm so sorry Lorraine, but I can only offer hugs no info. |
Thank you. Oliver is scheduled for surgery on December 7 to try and open one of the defective heart valves via a catheter and reduce the pressure on the right side of his heart. He’s such an active dog it’s hard to fathom that is heart is broken. We’re keeping our hopes up that all works well. |
We have a 4 month old puppy that was surrendered to our rescue that has Patent Ductus Arteriosus, (PDA) which is different from what your Oliver is going through but still a heart issue which is scary for any reason. Sprout got through his surgery at Purdue University Vet Teaching Hospital like a champ. Hoping Oliver makes it through equally well. |
