How much should a 3 mos old OES pup drink and also urinate

it seems our new addition drinks and urinates a lot. meaning each time she goes out and every time she passes a water bowl she will drink and it seems she urinates quite a bit (small volumes many times). she is still being potty crate trained, using pads well and immediately goes out and urinates and drinks before going in. my wife has a theory that she is mimicing the 2 older rough collies who drink and urinate each time they go out. so like she is doing it twice as much as they do. maybe i am being paranoid, she is not dehydrated that is for sure. I know puppies have smaller bladders and less control. she is happy and healthy and got over the puppy diarrhea the second week we had her with some veterinary care (Rx abx and probx)

I have found that sheepys like to constantly top up their water tanks!! Then of course it has to come out again.!! x

Yeah thanks I think this is the case. and she pees at night in crate but that’s okay she uses pad and we try to get up to let her out at night. Last night it was five hours between and then this morning at three hours she held it. I guess that’s pretty good for a three mos old. I’ll get my sleep back someday I hope.
At 3 months, we took Harry out every 30 min, before and after eating, before and after naps, and before and after play, if that makes sense. Potty time was only potty time, no playing, until we went back in. If he did not go, back in the crate, wait 20 min. And than back outside. He was goid tho, and could hold it for over an hour by then. But being consistent, and getting up every 3 hours until he learned to bang around to let me know he had to go, gas him fully housetrained at 6 months old. It's hard. He was a chugger, so we always put small amounts if water in his bowl, I would rather refill 10 times than gave to worry about a full bladder and accidents. I never used pee pads, even in -40 windchill, we were consistent in taking him out, pee pads can be hard to wean off.

oh sorry about double post, darn phone

BeckyN yes that is very good information and i think i had better step up my game to see if i can simulate your successful results, thanks for the insight, tips and inspiration!
I find the best thing about Harry, is when he has to go, but is still asleep, he tosses. So I get him up and let him out before he really gets up, saves on whining and he goes back to sleep faster. If you wait til they are fully up, they may not like going back in the crate. Now at 6 months, he wants to go to bed at 8:30 pm, I let him out at 12, and he sleeps til Jim lets him out at 6-7am, than he wants to sleep in til 9. I am lucky to have a lazy morning boy!
I also did not treat for potty training, high praise, a good petting, and inside for some fun play. I wanted him to know if was serious business, and he caught on fast. With treats he would half per and expect a treat. His motivation was to head back in and play. If lucky, he has had maybe 5 accidents in the first 2 months , and none were poo .
