How terrible for you and how traumatic for her. I am so sorry. This should not have happened. Hope she will be feeling better soon. |
I had done a longish email about this subject but doesn't seem to have made it onto here- maybe was a "bit strong"? Anyway, this has happened so many times to owners that have done very good brushing jobs etc that I now don't use a groomer. My daughter did for Dylan-he came home very bald and had not a mat on him- the groomer thought he was to hot. xxxx |
Nothing deleted that I know about. I think there were two of these posts. Edit: look at the next topic in this sub forum "sheep dog coat" |
Finding a good groomer is like finding treasure! Many of us here have gone through similar experiences. We did find a Master groomer in a village outside our city. Worth the drive and the cost for the few times a year we want a professional grooming. Otherwise, like so many others, we just learned to do it ourselves. Don't be too hard on yourself. It IS just hair and it grows back quickly. |
Groomers don't like to do sheepdogs! First they are too big, second they have the undercoat, third to do it properly they way you wanted would be a complete!!! brush out then hand trim. Groomers work on speed, fast in fast out especially if the dog isn't used to being worked on. Most often you'll get a Bichon cut.......and often worse. You'd be better off taking her to the groom for regular brush outs and trimming her yourself. In time you'll find a groomer willing to work on the larger dog IF they are completely mat free to start including the hidden areas. Yeah, private rash may be due to hot clipper as well as too close. I always cool the blade before going anywhere private, better yet, newer blade. |
