His personality is quite demanding in general. In the past we had two OES and it seemed that the older dogs helped keep the pups in line and teach them what was acceptable. We lost both of our loves within the year and now this new little guy is giving us a run for our money. Anyone else have their sheepie do this? |

Yes. It had stopped for a couple of months until Joan went away on a trip then he looked right at me across the room and just let loose. Then he did it again the next day right next to me. It seems to be part of his "negative attention seeking". He's 15 months now, neutered at 13 months, and it's just starting to quiet down. |
Dogs do not understand spite or revenge, this is a human behavior. He may be uncomfortable with the circumstances and this is how dogs are programmed to behave. Yelling will only increase his unease and reinforce the behavior. If he is seeking attention and you give it - he wins and learns if I do this, I get that. It's also a security thing and often dogs (or puppies) do this when they are stressed about being along, another dog in the house, broken routines or any changes in their surroundings. They may seem like insignificant to us but a dog's world is much smaller and even moving a chair to a different spot can be upsetting to some dogs. Be patient, your puppy will adjust and it will stop. Good luck! Shellie |
...and buy "Nature's Miracle" by the gallon! |
Right! Well, at least it used to work. I haven't had much luck since the big change over. I guess the company was sold or something and it seems like the formula changed around that time. Is there anything better? There seem to be lots of new sprays and washes out, but I haven't tried any. I am way too cheap. Shellie |
