Where does your babies sleep! Or where did they as babies want to nap? I want a couch baby, but will be carrying out to potty, as by the time we have one, it will be full winter, and for night potty, in and out will be so much faster if I carry and run rather than leash up and dress warm! |

My three girls sleep all over the place. We have beds and sometimes they sleep on them. Right now Virginia is on the sofa, Gracie is on the hardwood, behind a rack of drying laundry, and Mady is sleeping under the coffee table, on the Persian carpet. During the hot summer, though, I think that they wished we had a house entirely covered with cool tile. |
My boy likes the cold hard tile but will lay on a dog mat if its a cool material or one of those cooling pads but none of those have been big enough. All depends on their personality my dog likes to be on the bed but only because he normally is not allowed so he feels special he will enjoy it for a bit then move on |
Thanks Shelbybelle and Mady's mum! So I will put out a foam bed,but will not assume it will be used! Thanks a bunch! |
Kensie fits on the "large" size just fine. Yes, she is a floor dog, but at some point each night she likes her bed. I just bought her a new XL bed, not only does it take up too much room in DH's bedroom, silly dog misses her old one. It was the bed for 4 other dogs, probably good smells. Plus K-dog had bent and chewed the corners into good pacifiers. She'd suck on the corners to go to sleep. She was down to foam and I feared she'd start eating it. So right now she's my floor rug, right under my feet when I angle out of bed. Simone was a bed dog, slept up against my DH's legs. I had Harry Dog to spoon with so wasn't too jealous. Every dog is different, but I encourage doggies on floor because when they stretch out, you'll be pushed to the floor. |
One of my girls loves to sleep on top of the air conditioner vent. They like their dog beds but prefer the sofa! |
Well yeah, K-dog is a register resident summer and winter. Problem is she licks the register in the summer to cool her tongue and licks off the finish causing them to start rusting. Easily replaced but a bother. And she is also a couch potato when we are away from home. If she's asleep and we enter quietly, we catch her. Hey, the couch is too low for me to get off it anymore, might was well let the dog use it. |
I will save the couch as invite only, for the first few years anywho will make sure to leave various beds, as a just in case, we only have carpet in the bedrooms and living room, bedrooms will be off limits, until potty training is 100%. Thanks for the advice, we have plenty of cool spots, sounds like a perfect porch buddy for me |
Sprocket lays in the way as much as possible!! He know where I will sweep and lays there. He does like to have his head on something or someone. He loves his "5 mins lay on our lap on sofa in the evening". When grandchildren round he lays in the middle of their car track or whatever-he has a bed/box and a "beanbag" type bed- his toys mainly live on/in these. xx |
Sprocket sounds like a cat when you're trying to read the newspaper lol!! |
Yes, all ours have been the same. He is our 4th, first with a tail, which does make the bottom trim a bit tricky as he puts his tail in the way. He plays with balls like a cat, not chasing after them, pouncing on them. xx |
