This may get a lot of nays, but I would recommend for a extreme pulller to put on a small prong, the smaller the better, set for a size that you can still fit you fingers under, and let the dog self correct. Dog training works better, every time the dog pulls, you switch direction or stop. The dog looks back, or comes back, whichever comes first , you reward! Than you walk again, the dog eventually catches on that paying attention to you is rewarding. I spent a few weeks with my pyr cross stopping and switching direction before she decided it was better I lead. The thunderleash to me looks like a waste of money. The martingale or halti would do just as well a job, and as long as you reward the dog and start short training on the halti, the dog should do fine! I consider a prong a last resort, for the ones that just don't "get it". And guaranteed that thunderleash will cause matting! The location is prime for that! |
Not heard of the thunderleash, what is it? Have to look up later as I am not really on here at the mo- finishing off my lunch.xx xx |
its a leash that you can make yourself, basically you loop a portion around the belly and connect to collar after you make a loop around dog so it acts like a quick harness. dogs respond because they feel the resistance around their belly or chest |
