Barn Hunt
I haven't been on the forum in a while.. lots of new faces...do any of the newer members compete with their dogs?   |

We made those as kids. It was the best fun!!! And we weren't allowed to do it as my Dad said it wrecked the haystack and squashed the bails...even better fun!!  |

| Charm and I tried barn hunt once. It was an instinct testing type of trial. It is set up like a barn with hay bales or done in a barn. The judge hides a rat in a cylinder. They also place other non-live cylinders in the hay as well. The dog has to discern which cylinder has the actual rat. It is nose work. It is an AKC event and titles are earned by levels of difficulty and speed. Charm wasn't too keen on it, even when she found the rat. I believe McCartney will love it. He always has his nose to the ground. |

| Hi all, Yes, we started Barn Hunt training in January of this year. Teddy loves it! After just 7 weeks, we did our first trial and Teddy did great. We did a trial weekend in March and another in May. He earned his Novice title at the second trial and got his first leg in Open. He is the first OES to earn a Barn Hunt title!
