Urine So Acidic It's Burning All of Our Grass

Plea for help:
Rufus is systematically destroying our backyard lawn. We've switched to grain & potato free dog food upon the recommendation of our vet (Zignature). He gets plenty of water. He gets a probiotic.
If anyone has any suggestions for preventing urine from burning the lawn, please share. I'm out of ideas. Please and thanks!

The only thing I found that worked was to dilute the urine with water.

We always walked Oscar on a leash, so this was easy for me to do, but we carried a plastic water bottle and poured it where he had peed. It was the only way to dilute the urine so that it didn't burn the grass. As a matter of fact, the grass would grow taller and greener where he had peed.

Thanks Laurie...That's what I'm coming to understand after a day of reading and researching...that, and that the problem is actually nitrogen not acid (who knew?!). Thanks so much!!!
