Maybe. I've found boys tend to be more attached to me and the girls have a special spot in their heart for my DH. That's not to say both of us are not loved by the dogs. All the girls, save one, have been a bit more independent, often going off to sleep elsewhere whereas the boys have always been found close to my bed. Playfulness is similar, boys might be more goofy in their play whereas the girls more........?? ......in control?? Hard to explain. I love them both. If you give me a choice between a dog or bitch..........it will be a plumbing issue for me. Boys tend to pee on their legs for awhile. Also when I'm rough housing with them, I don't like reaching under the tummy and finding the faucet. |
I agree with Susan. My oes Mickey Finn and Aussie Declan do have a tendency of wanting to be cuddled a lot and do spend a lot of time in my lap. The girls are a little more independent, but are also very affectionate. Yesterday, as an example, Mickey Finn slept across my lap, on the chair for 2 hours. This is not unusual. Helene usually spends a good portion of the morning on my lap as well, she starts it off. Each takes their turn. However, the boys seem to make their way there the most often. Cubby my other female oes sleeps next to me in bed, sometimes we are layered with Mickey Finn as well. I think you will be happy with either. |
