So I'm new to this forum and I figured it would help me greatly since I just added Korra to our little family. She's half Pitbull and half OES. She's beautiful and such a sweetheart, but I'm not quite sure how to train her since nothing I seem to do was working. Tried the one word No's and whatnot. She's extremely stubborn and doesn't seem to pick up on things quickly. We also have a Rednose and Catahoula leopard cur mix who is 2 and I've been raising on my own since he was 4 weeks old and he's so well mannered and loves his Korra. He kinda took her under his wing and has taught her some good habits. I just want to make sure I train her well. Help! Lol |

Welcome, if you can post a picture, she sounds wonderful. |
Patience and repetition. Do not let her get the upperhand, from the very start. With kindness and perseverance they are trainable. The Pittie will test you and wants to be the leader, you cannot let that happen. Hounds and retrievers want direction from you but the pit and to some extent, the OES, will want to do their own thing. Could be worse, you could have a livestock guardian dog like a Great Pyr who will just ignore you. |

It could be worse yes lol I started tying her leash up to my belt loops so she walks with me at all times and knows who's boss. She's doing pretty well with it. |
