Now, mind you, we keep the minivan in the garage. We keep the garage door down when they are to go in the van, safer to keep them under control. So slide the side door of the van open and expect them to all jump in, right? Nah, Asia hauls out and climbs right in. She's almost 9 and remembers the other van and all the fun trips she, Violet and China used to go on. Helene, Declan and Mickey Finn, had to smell the outside of the van and all before they could finally be talked into getting in. Ok, so my brave Mickey Finn kept barking at the van....Cubby refused to get in. She kept backing up until finally Chuck picked her and Mickey Finn up and put them in. They were fine once they got in and we headed off. All went well and they came home happy as a clam. Trip #2. Decided to take them out the next day so that they remember how much fun the first trip was. Asia, Declan, Helene, Mickey Finn all jumped in, but Cubby would have nothing to do with it until I climbed in the side door, she followed me in and I slumped into the driver's seat. I amaze myself sometimes at what this ole body can do still. So Cubby was in and off we go. Another pleasant trip in the van. That seems to have cured Cubby of being afraid of getting in the van, because she goes along with the lot of them when it's time to get in the van and run errands. They really are funny Just a reminder for those who don't remember or those who are new: Asia is an aussie who has been the other dogs nannie, she is almost 9. Declan (aussie) and Helene (oes) just turned 2 years old, Mickey Finn and Cubby are littermates and just turned 1 the end of December. |

Sounds like a party van!! You must get some attention on the road with that crew piled into the van! |
When our herd hit 5; oes, newf, pyrs.........we had to get rid of the Cherokee for the Odyssey. It was like "hey, we now have some room!!" Of course positions were maintained, those who were up front were once again up front. Getting in was no problem, getting out was another matter, "What?? the ride is over??" Kdog is the only now and when I pull into the driveway, she runs to the van and demands a ride.........40' into the garage. She's ever hopeful the ride will go in reverse and end up at Sonic for tater tots. When it ends in the garage it's, "Dang nothing happening, time to get out." Initially though, she would not get out........ever hopeful. But it's been a long dry spell for tater tots. |

She's not be deprived, she gets a sopapilla every week, sometimes twice. She's become bilingual, I say "sopapilla" and she runs outside to where DH is waiting with the doggie bag from the restaurant. |
