My Phlufie can no longer stand long enough for a shower. After the vet visit his coat smells like...well...vet's office. I don't want to risk his life for a clean smell dog, so I am wondering if anyone has luck with any waterless shampoo that I can buy in local pet stores, or if anyone has an alternative methods to clean dogs? His hair is of course getting very long for the winter, and I don't want to shave him (unless you recommend it, even if it's cold. I don't think he can stand long enough for me to shave his legs). Thanks. |

Hi- We've tried waterless shampoo with our oes and it's a pain...maybe it's the brand, we use John Paul pet? It never seems to disappear into her fur and she never smells any cleaner. I have found that using the Furminator waterless sprays (we have the detangler/de-shedding formula and an oatmeal version) make a world of difference in terms of smell and she doesn't have any issues with the formula irritating her skin. We found the John Paul line at HomeGoods and Target, and the Furminator sprays online or in pet stores. |
You could try using a sprinkling of baby powder. I like the lavender scent the best. Maybe add a little baking soda? Try to brush out as much as possible or blow out with a hair dryer on the cool setting. |
